Rape/incest are already horrible crimes. You don't make those any better by adding murder to them.
@9GN6QF47mos7MO
I believe that it is every females right to abort an unwanted child especially if the circumstances of the pregnancy are traumatizing. people who feel they are not ready to have a child or do not want to have a child and got pregnant by mistake or not by choice should have every right to abort their pregnancy
@9GMYRRL7mos7MO
Abortion is not murder due to the fact that most abortions are before brain activity/its fully developed. A woman should not be forced to have the baby of her abuser.
@9GN7PJPIndependent7mos7MO
If the child produced was through such means, it could both physically and mentally damage the mother. In best case scenario, the mother would either give the child up for adoption (which would overfill the already packed adoption and foster homes) or live with the idea that they had been raped and the child is a constant reminder of such events.
@9GMXDXC7mos7MO
It should be the parents choice if they keep it or not because some times the woman could have been raped or the baby could kill her in birth
@9GN2RMTWomen’s Equality 7mos7MO
It's not just the father's life on the line, it's the mother's too. The mother who has to deal with the outcome of being sexually assaulted despite her possible economic, mental, or physical state. It's arrogant to only think about the father's consequences when the mother is the one dealing with the man's actions (rape/sexual assault).
@9GMZS5C 7mos7MO
Women should have a choice in their bodies, no one else should have a say on their bodies. most people are unable to provide for a child, and if someone or a child gets raped and gets pregnant they should have the choice if they want to keep it. it shouldn't be a political matter it should just be a right for all women to have this choice. No one should be forced to have a kid if they're not ready to.
Abortion is not murder, the baby is not a baby yet because they have not been fully developed at the point of abortion.
@9GRJ83W7mos7MO
Regardless of if it makes sense to you or not, it doesnt CONCERN you. It isnt your body or mind that has to endure the trauma, nor would you have to endure the financial strain for the rest of your life. On top of that, science doesnt support the theory that abortion is murder.
@9GN5HGZ7mos7MO
Women should be able to decided what they want to do with their bodies, especially with the economy we live in that makes it harder to maintain a job. There are millions of kids in foster homes that are still not being taken care of and that’s just adding more to it.
@9GMYL9R7mos7MO
I think that is not your choice to make about the babys outcome. It is the mothers job to dictate if she wants a abortion. Some women need to get and abortion for the sake of their health so its not the fathers choice.
@9GNP8WR7mos7MO
Why should anyone be restricted from making a choice with their body? You talk about being "pro life" and not killing a not yet born child. Yet you are making a forceful act against one life already, the woman who is being forced to have this child whether they wanted to or not. Everyone should equally get a choice, no matter what. This should not be up for discussion.
@9GN7Z6B7mos7MO
A woman shouldn't have to go through the trauma of delivering a child that was made from an already traumatizing event.
Having the child will physically and mentally deprive the mother and the mother should ultimately have the choice since it's her body.
Do you want the mother to have to live the rest of her life in misery because she is living with a child who reminds her of the man who raped her? What if she doesn't have the money to raise this child. Do you want a 14 year old girl who doesn't have any money to have all her prospects ruined and basically ruin the prospects of her child just because you don't want to abort an unborn fetus that does not know anything about what's going on?
@9GSS7J67mos7MO
If rape/incest occurs, many of the women do not want to carry the child. If incest is the cause the child could be born with major defects, this ends up worse for the child since they would have to go on with life with those defects. If rape occurs, most women do not want to have a child from someone that forced them into the sexual act. Not only that, but the rapist would most likely not even help in raising the child too. That would leave the child with no father and the reasoning for having the kid involves trauma for the mother. It should be up to the mother to decide if she is comfortable or not with having the baby. In this case, charging the mother with "murder" wouldn't be fair either since it wasn't her committing the crimes of rape/incest.
@9GQPF7G7mos7MO
Your not the one popping that baby out its up the the person who was raped. Are you making a 18 year commitment?
@9GPW8ND7mos7MO
Language is incredibly important when discussing this issue, using words like ‘murder’ and ‘child’, show inherent bias. Abortion is not murder nor the extermination of a ‘child’. It is a medical procedure to remove, what is essentially a ball of cells, that has no abilities a child would have - it does not have a consciousness and it cannot feel pain. It merely prevents a woman from being imposed motherhood.
@9GNC686Progressive 7mos7MO
It's not murder since it's not a child. Why would you force someone to give birth to a rapist's baby? This poor person has already suffered enough why force them to give birth to the child of the person who gave them severe trauma.
@9GN3V9J7mos7MO
Abortion is tragic, but a harsher punishment for that child is to force them into a world where they were unwanted by their parent
first of all abortion is not murder, the child is not even a fully developed fetus at the time of operations. and how dare you force a women to have a child that is a product of rape??? this is why so many children who are produced as an outcome of this potentially experience abuse and neglect, because their mothers cannot even stand to be around them due to trauma. and not to mention, some women cannot even have a child because it will cause a slew of negative health effects for instance: death. this also does not take into account the age or financial situation of the victim. just because… Read more
@9GMZ4ZQ7mos7MO
I think abortion should be a choice on the mother. And only the mother, if it was by rape, it is her choice if she would like to terminate or not.
@9GMX9FH7mos7MO
It should be entirely up to the mother who was raped and has to carry the child if she wants to keep the child. Access to safe abortions must be available to her since it was not her choice to be impregnated.
@9GN6B5Q7mos7MO
It is not murder if they aren't even born yet. Women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies
@9GN39G97mos7MO
This is not a child, it is a clump of cells. WOMEN should be able to choose what they do with THEIR bodies. She did not ask to get pregnant not did she ask to be taken advantage of. Not only would this women be giving up her life but she would be giving up herself if she was forced to have a baby that was a product of rape and not love. Also is this woman's body is not fully mature giving birth could potentially harm her/kill her. If this woman could not afford to support a child she would then have to give it up for adoption and who knows the type of life that child would have in foster care. None of those outcomes seem good for the baby nor the mom, especially when it was against her will and forced.
@9GRCDZL7mos7MO
The baby was never alive, and it might not be the mother's fault. Now its her problem, and she can get rid of it, but not without abortion.
@9GRFG4L7mos7MO
It makes sense to want to abort the child of your rapist/incester because those things happening to you were already traumatic enough and having the child of someone who did that to you could lead to more trauma. And, there is also a possibility that having this child could cause sever harm to you or even death.
@9GRBGTVIndependent7mos7MO
If someone were to get raped and get pregnant from it they wouldn’t want to keep a rapist baby. It’ll be traumatic for them to see the results of what someone did to them everyday.
@9GT8F2TWomen’s Equality7mos7MO
A lot of the time the fetus can't live on its own so it isn't murder. If it is putting the women/ the mother carrying the child at harm mentally or physically she should take priority even if that means abortion.
@9GSJ57P7mos7MO
It's not murder if the child doesn't even have limbs or breathe. If a women doesn't want a child, she doesn't want it. Consider the fact she might have to give the child up if she can't take care of that. Foster care systems are horrible and that child would grow up miserable and probably end up suicidal. Another thing, what if the women physically cannot because it puts her life on the line? If you don't want and abortion then don't get one; Don't ruin it for other women.
@9GNHQ3VProgressive7mos7MO
People here now are the priority. The "child" is not a child. It's a fetus. Forcing the person carrying the child to give birth would add to their trauma from the sexual abuse they faced. Also, the child would not be ensured to live a good life. Foster care sucks.
@9GMYLR97mos7MO
A fetus in a womb is not a human being until the developmental stages of pregnancy. Justifying crimes such as rape and incest by comparing a medical procedure to murder is unfair.
@9GSDSBC7mos7MO
The mother most likely did not want this child and she should not have to live with a huge responsibility that she did not want in the first place. Not to mention that the child would most likely remind her of her trauma for life.
@9GN2Y9DRepublican7mos7MO
A fetus gets its heartbeat 4 weeks during a women's pregnancy. If you consider all the factors of a living thing, a fetus falls under that factor. If you kill a fetus, you are killing a human being. It is considered murder. Women have the option after giving birth of giving their baby to the hospital and they will bring them to the adoption center. The only way I would say for an abortion to be right is when the mother and the child are both in danger.
@9GRZPWW7mos7MO
The female that had to go through that traumatic experience should be allowed to make the choice of aborting the fetus for it was not their decision in any way because of circumstances.
@9GR4VPT7mos7MO
Unborn children aren't alive so killing them isn't murder. They are functionally parasites of the mother and should be treated as such.
@9GS9W5G7mos7MO
It makes no sense to make a victim give birth to a child who will constantly remind them of a awful traumatizing event.
