“NO! The US Constitution forbids the government taking property without just compensation. When the government requires a medical service provider to provide emergency services without being paid, while it seems moral and empathetic, it is an unconstitutional taking without compensation. Instead, have the Government pay the service provider (with minor restrictions to prevent overcharging) and then hound the person who received the medical service by the IRS for the rest of their lives if necessary, and seizing assets if necessary. If people do not like that prospect, they should buy insurance, and the insurance will be cheaper because the cost of deadbeats is not being passed on to other consumers.”
