Reduce, but not cut funds significantly, just reduce and give money to education in the country.
Yes, but also for all other countries.
Decrease for now because taxes have been getting really high and then once needed raise them but not past as high as they've been learn to spend the money more wisely.
Increase as we need more resources, for example during wartime
Completely get rid of the military
It is fine the way it is now.
Increase, only if needed.
the current level of spending is ok if it can be justified and the pentagon can be audited to assure that what is being spent is actually of reasonable value
@9YJC22YPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
Decrease but not drastically. We spend billions on military and funding wars but we do want our military to remain strong and feared.
Decrease. I'm not against the military in general, but I think we could divert some of the spending on it to more important issues at home.
@9XXKM7YPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
i think it should be used for our own militarty isntead of being used for other countries but could still be used for treaties but only after we ourselves are secured
@9XGS6MZPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
the government should increase military spending when they are protecting the contrary. when the military goes to fight another contrary should keep the same amount the military has spent
we should first minimize waste of funding in the military, and to ensure that veterans are taken care of
@9WXDFRMPeace and Freedom 11mos11MO
People who are in the military should get paid more not buying all of the stuff that the military should get try and use the old ones.
Keep it where it is, and focus on other areas that need help and are struggling like education, healthcare, etc.
@9WHGSHGPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
only spend it when were needing it other than that try and use extra money to provide for other problems we have
@9WCZMJTPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
the government spends alot of money on the military when some of the money can be used for other important things.
@9W5KNZ7Peace and Freedom11mos11MO
if the money is needed elsewhere it should go to that cause, but if there's no need to send the money where it can be better used, it should continue to go into military funding. basically, only spend extra money on military.
@9W2B9PQPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
In times of need they should be correctly funded but we also should always be ready with appropriate funding.
@9VXNM94Peace and Freedom11mos11MO
If this is what I think it means then yes because I know it’s conditions and all but for the people who fight for are country and all they shouldn’t have to sleep on matel bunk beds and have to eat pre packaged food that basically what astronauts eat like I feel they should be blessed a little more then that.
@9VTNVNYPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
I would say if they need the help and support to help them fight then I would say yes, but if it’s just to get better and cooler equipment then I’ll say no.
@9VSLFGBPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
I think they should give them more spending ability ONLY if there is a big war or we have allies who are getting attacked.
The military should only be allowed enough funds that they are 100% able to account for with consistent public audits.
@9VNDXZFPeace and Freedom11mos11MO
Let's not just spend more money, especially with companies that will over inflate their prices. We need to actually figure out where this money is going and see how much of it is too much to spend on.
@9VLWD8CPeace and Freedom12mos12MO
It depends on what the money is going to. It better be going to a better defending system or attacking system.
I do think military spending in the U.S. is extreme but I have heard things that make me unsure. For example, I know that a lot of military spending goes toward scientific advancements.
i do belive that the government should decrese military spending, but only because i beleive that a lot of the money going to the military can go to better places, like the school system and healthcare.
Sort of, we are dealing with inflation, and military spending is one way to use extra taxpayer money.
@9V7WHMVPeace and Freedom12mos12MO
yes at the same time no because sometimes that will cause the U.S. in dept but my yes is because everyone is eventually gonna go to war
@9TXQBS7Peace and Freedom12mos12MO
We need to increase how much we spend on our soldiers in general. Whether it is while they are fighting for our country or when they come home (reintegration).
@9TXP9TCPeace and Freedom12mos12MO
Should use as much as they need if neccesary other than that it shouldn't be spent instead saved for projects.
our military needs to be revised in general, and decrease in spending for torture procedures and the brainwashing and violence against humans in the field
I believe we should keep our military strong but try to prevent more wars with words and not gunfire.
I consider that the budget is fine with the agreed amount, it does not need to increase or decrease.
Decrease funding specifically the $800 billion dollars spent annually on battleships that aren’t in use or relevant anymore
I feel that the way our country is right now other countries may see us a being weak or easy to take advantage of so we may need to increase although it takes from other things as well
I think they should slow it down as long as we are not into immeidate danger we should not be spending so much
I don't think they should rise it or lower it im just fine where its at unless we actually need it then that's a different story
Depends on what the world is looking like but government should not be worrying about other countries military
If the military budget is getting in the way of other services then it should be decreased, but our military power has been what's kept America safe from invasion for so long.
Decrease foreign military spending, keep domestic the same only increase in the wake of decreased foreign intervention.
We spend about 35% of our budget on the military. We could reduce that to about 30% and use the other 5 for other matters.
I think we should find a way to decrease spending whilst still being able to stay at the top of the food chain that in case of a massive threat, we still hold power over them.
More of the military budget should spent on increasing quality of life and resources for current military members and their families, which would encourage current members to reenlist and new members to join.
Depends on what and why … teaching people real combative tactics and abolishing the use of guns from all
We are arguably capable of being able to fund a our military and have the social welfare programs we deserve if we can’t then maybe we should find a way to met our treaty obligations without having such an insane defense budjet
Decrease, until more money is being given to active and veteran members and in maintaining their well-being, we should not give more money to military spending
Depends on the situation at hand, if nothing of importance is going on then no, unless the spending is explicitly used for improvement on equipment or training.
The b -bomber is a billion dollar air craft that flies on average once a year and takes 250k to fly for a couple of hrs. This comes out to tax payers pockets.
Decrease, extra money should be used in other area where money could be useful, such as health, and public housing.
I think it depends on the tensions we have with other countries and whether or not we need the protection atm.
Should only contribute tax money partially towards the Military, and instead the rest goes to pay of universal dept.
Decrease, especially with the current multi-year streak of the Pentagon failing their audits without consequences.
We should decrease the military spending by a few and use the other amount of spending for other things that we should be actually spending on that benefits the country more.
i feel like instead of spending it all willy nilly like that we should use it for a better cost like helping out family's in need. and change our current president, sleepy joe. TRUMP 2024!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
Stop funding the military-industrial complex, combat profiteering, and raise base pay for lower-enlisted service members.
even it out because most our money goes to military for other countries instead of helping the people that are homeless or struggling in our economy.
Decrease gradually, transferring those funds to social programs and infrastructure including putting veterans to work on even more infrastructure projects.
The military is already big on it's own and should use it for less funded projects such as more funding for NASA and funding for education and homeless
I feel as if the military spending is okay but we should invest in our veterans we need better programs and should increase the funding in regards to mental and physical health as well as shelter for veterans or those honorably discharged.
Decrease military spending overall, but increase supports for veterans, active duty members and military families to provide higher quality healthcare and safer housing
They dont have to decrease but they need to make sure they're giving money to the people that is living in their own country and not leaving them on the street stuggling
I strongly believe we need the help and extra money towards them JUST IN CASE. But the people matter more than war.
Decrease it once were at a certain point, like once we reach a certain milestone we should start spreading that money into more stuff.
Military spending should be distributed to other things, like homelessness, food, and financial services to education, and once these are substantial, then military spending can retain the rate it is at.
if there's no wars we should decrease to try sand clear some of our national debt, if there is a war then do what's necessary to keep our freedom and win the war
to its own extant because alot of the time what we are paying for id war when our money can go to so much more like more education programs in highschools so that kids have more options or help pay for property.
Increase due to the tensions, but not to be used to engage in conflict immediately. Just to hold in spending, less investment in nuclear warfare, however.
Decrease to an amount that would still be good, but enough so social issues like homelessness can be more focused on.
Depends, it is okay to increase spending in times or war but apart from that, they should be lowered
Neither, The gov should creat a system in witch to hold money for emegreces while still funding the military then once a specific amount was put in the system the military fung goes down until an emercancy hits in which we would use the saved money as well as slowly increasing their spending
Disminuir pero con sentido común. Porque no se puede estar gastando dinero en cosas que ya tenemos solo porque que las nuevas tiene un cambio menor/casi insignificante cuando ese dinero puede ir para cosas más importantes
Just because they're paying so much that means more people will enlist than people in other countries who have to be forced.
Increase, but only for things they truly need, such as ammo weapons and defenses things like that as long as it's useful and not just used stupidly.
The government should audit the armed forces and increase current accountability measures, tackle wasteful spending, and ensure all current funding is being used at maximum efficiency.
They allow spending to go to the wrong places, although if they allocated it in a better way, with better records. It would be good to increase spending.
Decrease, the US does not need such a large military, its only purpose is power projection and interfering in the affairs of sovereign nations, which is inherently undemocratic.
I think the government shouldn't spend more than they mean to but the military does deserve a good income of money seeing as they do fight for the United States. But the government is so in debt that I don't think we have the money to increase military spending.
Decrease, and take more consideration in what the spending will be on so that the decrease won't be such a big hit the the military.
I’m anti war, why do we need to always send our people where people don’t like them and don’t want them there.
It depends, if they are getting ready for something big that might happen it could be fine and if they are getting better equipment, but if they are just spending on things they don't need then not ok.
Decrease, and invest that money into social welfare projects (Public Transit, Public Infrastructure, etc)
maybe a 50/50 they should increase but if like any downside effects happen in the economy then they should descresed/
The military should reprioritize current funding to develop systems that can address peer/near-pear future threats.
I believe military spending is fine where its at right now, but the pentagon misplaced $6.2 billion for military funding, we need to focus more on fraud, waste, and abuse rather than supplying billions of dollars to conflicts that have no end goal, like the war in Ukraine. Problems lay within the military and their budgeting, not from the amount they are allocated.
We need to reduce military spending to 30% of its current size, it is not necessary to spend this amount of taxpayer money on the military especially when we are running a deficit as big as we currently are
Cut the funding by a little bit and redirect spending on better treatment of the military, stricter regulations, and better training.
I think we should only increase money if the area of the military is of current use, if it is not currently as relevant as other areas it should decrease.
depends on what the funding is going to, for our own country, whatever amount is fine, if its to fight a war we are not, or should not be apart of, then no, cut that funding, unless directly involved.
It really depends because at times the military doesn't really need that much money, however, it times of crisis it needs more funding
the governments shold go throw periods where they decrease spending wall the have a steady amount in reserved.
I think the government should decrease the military spending by very little and put the money into schools
I thinkethe government should increase because the more they spend on the military, the powerfull they got.
I think we should pay our people more, if we do increase the spending, for serving our country and veterans after they get out, especially if they're wounded in action.
The more money spent the more wars and violence but also the less we have to defend ourselves, so I’m torn.
