Yes, increase the income tax rate and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations

 @97YYCMCSocialist from California  answered…3yrs3Y

MMT shows that this is ineffective due to the government no longer being constrained by financial reserves. Instead regulate monetary hoarding and ensure fair wages for laborers.

 @9D9M3SDPeace and Freedom from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Money is the root of all evil. Taxes is a form of slavery and shouldn’t exist.

 @98T9GKNGreen from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Abolish the income tax, disallow all deductions, and increase the sales tax. In addition, tax the buying of stocks and securities with the exception of buying stock in a company that one is employed by.

 @B6JV6TTPeace and Freedom from Oklahoma  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, you should add more money for the rich people because they are rich and they have enough money and some rich people are very disrespectful to others who are not as rich. So, yes I do think that the government should raise the price because they need to know how others feel about not having much money because of taxes and I want to see the rich understand how hard it is for the people who are not so rich or not even rich at all.

 @9YJ97QFGreen from Ohio  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, while lowering taxes for low-income individuals/families and removing tax loopholes for large corporations.

 @9Y8TZM5Peace and Freedom from California  answered…11mos11MO

No, however they should do it proportionally, like for every $50,000 that are made, a %10 income tax.

 @9Y8JC9HPeace and Freedom from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

No because it's not fair because they worked hard to get where they are and everything should be equal for everybody.

 @9XYQLQHSocialist from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

I feel like you can increase taxes on the rich but there will always be a loophole and yes lower tax for the poor

 @9XWH9GPPeace and Freedom from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

No just because they are richer it does mean they should raise it everyone taxes should be the same for everyone

 @9XL6V7KPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

If it will help the lower classes in any way then sure. But if not, then there's no particular reason we should.

 @9XGMZTFPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

That would be interesting, but what would really help if you lower the taxes for the poor and middle classes, we’re struggling enough and I’ve seen a bit of an increase of homeless people so far.

 @9X5CFBZPeace and Freedom from Alabama  answered…11mos11MO

I feel that taxes should be lowered for people who are poor and people who are rich should keep the same amount of taxes as they have now.

 @9X2ZCGBGreen from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

How rich is rich? Extremely wealthy already have so many tax loopholes. Mildly rich ppl 300-$1 mm pay the most in taxes especially professionals. Eliminate breaks for those over 10 mill.

 @9WZT6X3Socialist from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

The rate should be based on your income. A lower income family would have a lower percentage in comparison to wealthy/rich families. There should also be less loopholes for corporations

 @9WV967GSocialistfrom Maine  answered…12mos12MO

Reform to a flat tax and remove tax loopholes for corporations to evade taxes. Expand the IRS to do these things

 @9WSC9KDSocialist from Missouri  answered…12mos12MO

We Need A Tax System Reform. No Matter How Much We Raise Tax On The Rich Half The Time They Have Loop Hole To Not Pay Them Anyway.

 @9WQGF95Peace and Freedom from New York  answered…12mos12MO

Lower the income tax rate and working on remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations. now raising tax is dangerous for this country do keep it as it is for now , need to educate people's mindset about why we should treat others like our own family members then rich people won'r mad at paying higher tax for public using purpose

 @9WNQ3WFPeace and Freedom from New York  answered…12mos12MO

If U.S raise taxes on the rich even the rich feels supported on the poor peoples they give to them, insteads of keeping themselves.

 @9WPNFZLSocialist from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

I would say yes to this because what if the poor needs help and then the rich is just sticking there money to buy dumb things and the poor is going through a really hard time and they need help and they cant get out but if they do raise the taxes the should be able to ask and get that help they need

 @9WNTPJFPeace and Freedom from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

Raise taxes but not too much since some rich people work hard for their money while other's are already rich

 @9WLZNCXPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…12mos12MO

This subject is complicated. Personally, I would tax both the rich and poor. However, I would suggest making it a choice, whereas the rich should deposit money to those in needs of education, environmental, healthcare, and in poverty. The poor may also do the same, but if they are low on a specific amount, they do not need to.

 @9WLCGFZPeace and Freedom from Ohio  answered…12mos12MO

I do not think so because if they do that is not being fair because all people are they same, if someone is making more money it does not mean hey should be charged more.

 @9WHYQQTPeace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

Spread out a higher percentage between the top 5%, and introduce assistance on the middle and lower class tax rates.

 @9WDVB6HPeace and Freedom from Nevada  answered…12mos12MO

Heck no! All poor people should get lower taxes and more money, as some rich people are psychopaths or sociopaths.

 @9WDF646Peace and Freedom from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

there should be the same rate taxed on everyone like 10%, and they have to pay it based on their income.

 @9WC9LPXPeace and Freedom from New Jersey  answered…12mos12MO

Yes and no because they had got to where there were themselves, but also they have the money to pay for increased taxes.

 @9VVLWZ8Peace and Freedom from Colorado  answered…12mos12MO

yes but the rich and pretend to be the poor and the extra money will help with the hospitals and more.

 @9VMWWTFGreen from New Jersey  answered…12mos12MO

Tax poor people so they have to pay more interest over time so the government gets more money from the poor and the rich can still be rich and happy which in doing so allows the rich to fund more military endevours

 @9VJRH9MSocialist from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Establish higher progressive taxation on the wealthy, remove loopholes for large corporations, and give small businesses tax credits to cover benefits and vacation given to their employees. Allow taxpayers to vote on where their taxes are spent by the local and federal governments.

 @9VDZ3VCPeace and Freedomfrom Washington  answered…1yr1Y

no the rich are the same as the poor they both have to go to a job to get money exept the rich just work more and in higher paying companies then the poor.

 @9TLBT5QGreen from California  answered…1yr1Y

 @9THWYWWPeace and Freedom from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

it depends on what there doing if there rich because they started a business then no just keep a 40% tax rate. But if its from like stupid things like enhariting money then yes

 @9TCV9WXGreen from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

increase taxes on the rich and lower income tax rate on lower income households, and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations.

 @9TB38MBPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

we should make it where there is a tax on the rich by taxing stocks in the market so they cant just store it all in there

 @9SDGWTRGreen from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

taxes should be only for things that are necessary, not for everyday items for which doesn't really need to be taxed.

 @9S4PTXMPeace and Freedom from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

Depending on how they got their money. If they earned it and put in the work to become rich then no, but if they were given the money or did not work for it then yes.

 @9RZC92TPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I feel like it wouldn't be fair if they paid more than everyone else, since they earned that money working.

 @9RGF8FMGreen from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

I'm unsure what the current situation is, but taxes for the rich should definitely be much higher than taxes on the poor

 @9RF7SMRSocialist from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, heavily tax the rich. Lower the income tax rate, lower taxes for the middle and lower class, remove existing tax loopholes for large corporations.

 @9R5SRL7Green from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Create a system where the gov’t just tells people how much they owe and make them pay instead of them figuring it out themselves and using their own loopholes to avoid paying taxes.

 @9R4JPP2Green from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and raise the tax rates for corporations and remove all existing tax loopholes for both parties.

 @9QYYPMCPeace and Freedom from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

No, Income tax rate should be decreased for all parties to stimulate the economy, help businesses grow, and create more disposable income in the economy.

 @9QX73JZGreen from California  answered…1yr1Y

Raise taxes for the top 5%, lower taxes for everyone else, and eliminate taxes for anyone earning under or at the poverty line

 @9NXBGB5Peace and Freedom  from Alabama  answered…1yr1Y

Tax the poor less, keep the same amount of tax for the rich. Also, stop taxing income tax altogether.

 @9NJHSSKGreen from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, the rich need to be taxed, proportional to people with lower incomes and receive incentives to donate to nonprofit charities

 @9M7JVBGPeace and Freedom from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and lower taxes for the poor. Middle class taxes to remain the same until proven richer or poorer.

 @9M7FDLVPeace and Freedom from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

It would be better if both poor and rich had the same tax rate, wouldn't be too high on both sides and both sides can afford it without complaints about it.

 @9LZ2WSCPeace and Freedom from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, if they are making more money they won't be worried about taxes and it will be an easy payment and for the poor taxes may already be a lot on them.

 @9LTTH67Socialist from California  answered…1yr1Y

Taxes should be lowered for the poo while staying the same for the rich. But rather getting rid of loopholes that allow the rich to pay no taxes.

 @9LQD2MGPeace and Freedom from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

The taxes should not be raised for everyone who is "rich" and should only be for people who are millionaires or have even more money than that

 @9LFYWSMPeace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, Because this could challenge the rule of law incase someone is so rich they use that against people

 @9LB6PPZSocialist  from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

There is no reason that anyone in the upper classes should be paying a smaller percentage of their wealth in taxes than those less affluent.

 @9L6F7CTSocialist  from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, raise taxes on all income brackets, lower taxes for poor, abolish income tax. Remove tax loopholes.

 @9L4CXN3Peace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, lower tax rates for those making $400,000 or less and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations

 @9KZ22LWSocialist from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, I shouldn’t be in a situation where I lose almost 20% of my income to taxes while being less than middle class. Eliminate loopholes to evade taxes

 @9KTF2JBGreen from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Tax should be an equal percentage to all who pay, if a working class citizen pays 10% of his money so should a rich man.

 @9KSYYXWGreen from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make corporations pay high taxes. The tax brackets should move yearly to account for inflation as well.

 @9KSC689Socialist from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Eat the rich. Or at least any income or asset that is more than 10 Million that in individual owns have to be taxed at 100%

 @9KMZZH5Peace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I would say yes because people who are not rich have to pay tons of money and be in dedt a lot, and rich people are able to pay more money.

 @9KLXXXYPeace and Freedom from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

If the rich person are always bragging about how much money they have and if they are obnoxious they deserve to be taxed more

 @9KLWV4KPeace and Freedom from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

Use a percentile rate that is equal throughout. The more you make, the higher the tax. No loopholes.

 @hanbohobbitSocialist from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Abolish income tax for individuals making less than $150,000 per year. Tax those who reach $200 million or more in individual yearly income at 75-100%.

 @9KBWT6ZPeace and Freedom from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Richer people should be part of a higher tax bracket but not in a way where making more would actually cause you to make less, as well as having suport/lowering taxes for lower classes

 @9JYY9TBSocialist from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Gradually raise taxes on the rich and gradually reduce taxes on the middle and working class, with the goal of eventually transitioning to a 0% income tax on the middle and working class

 @9JYMNP5Socialist from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Abolish all tax. Create a monthly/yearly bill for each county or state. Use those funds to take care of roads, schools etc.

 @9JX6ZJSGreen from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

honestly i feel that it is unfair to raise their taxes its not easy to be rich people cannot work hard all their lives for money only for half of it to go in taxes just because the worked hard and made it in life.

 @9JSYNK8Green from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes and the definition of “rich” should be based on cost of living of where you live rather than income brackets.

 @9JQ88B9Socialist  from Louisiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Raise tax on the rich, tax religious organizations appropriately, and eliminate loopholes for large corporations.

 @9JC2FF3Green from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

Close loopholes for large corps(to a point). Increase on all but tiered. Ultea wealthy have largest increase, make offshoring labor/companies taxable to a point.

 @9J6P2BLPeace and Freedom from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

i think it should be fair for everone but also think that prices should be less (things should be less expesive)

 @9J6MHXWGreen from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

I think if they had owned a business that the taxes should be divided among the workers. Franklin D Roosevelt hints towards that the more we had paid, the better our economy would be.

 @9HVJFCJSocialist from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

i think the rich should be taxed more and that non-essential should be taxed while taxes on essentials like food and drinks be abolished

 @9HNNDNBPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, also lower tax rates for the non-rich and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations

 @9HKW5ZJPeace and Freedom from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe there should be a cap of income. 1 billion and anything more should be recycled into charity's and communities.

 @9HK8LC3Peace and Freedomanswered…2yrs2Y

Just because people have worked harder to get to where thye are doesnt mean they should be punished for it

 @9HGLMLWGreen from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Rewrite the tax code to make sure the rich can not dodge taxes. That way we don't have to hike taxes so much for the rich.

 @9H7WGQVPeace and Freedom from Louisiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Lower the tax for the poor, and keep the regular tax for the rich; and raise taxes for wealthy by a tiny bit.

 @9GX287XPeace and Freedom from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and lower taxes for the poor and also; Lower the income tax rate, Remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations, Abolish income taxes, Disallow or decrease all deductions, And decrease the sales tax

 @9GTMZ43Green from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

No but we should make it harder for the rich to hide their money. They keep getting away with getting taxed less due to this. It’s messed up.

 @9GJSTM9Peace and Freedom from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

doesn't matter being rich doesn't have anything to do with making your taxes more just because you're rich. Everybody should pay the taxes they are given. this question is not relevant.

 @9GFYPHTGreen from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

We should flip how tight taxes are because on the poorer side it's super tight and on the rich side it's not as tight

 @9FX92SZSocialist from Idaho  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on what is classified as 'rich' or 'poor.' If it's based on income, then yes, though I would argue that it would be better to define it based on the ratio of income to output, so it's based on their capacity to participate in the economy.

 @9FW7SQWGreen from Idaho  answered…2yrs2Y

Remove all loopholes for large corporations, increase taxes for higher tax brackets, and focus on solutions for environment and housing that are more expensive but permanent solutions that do not require yearly upkeep reliant on taxes

 @9FRKNGLSocialist from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that taxes should be raised on the rich specifically in two ways the first being that after a certain profit of around one billion dollars, they should be taxed at one hundred percent and receive tax benefits for paying their workers higher and higher wages, and the second is that they should be taxed and measured on income received through assets such as stock lending and stock appreciation
