Should terminally ill patients be allowed to end their lives via assisted suicide?
I don't really know but all I know is that suicide doesn't take the pain away. You pass on the pain…
Terminal illnesses often have pain so intense and persistent that it is likely unimaginable to the average person. It is not humane to expect a person afflicted with such an illness to wait fo a natural death (if euthanasia is desired by the afflicted) just because their death may cause a family member to be sad. This is an entirely different set of circumstances than suicide caused by mental illness, and looking at it in the same light is incredibly inconsiderate and disrespectful to those unfortunate enough to have to deal with these terrible terminal illnesses.
