Yes, but only if they are terminally ill, have a prognosis of less than six months to live, the patient makes the decision on their own terms (including having considered alternative options), and the patient must also undergo a full mental health evaluation to ensure they have no prior diagnosis of depression to ensure that the patient has no suicidal ideations or plans to commit suicide and be referred to proper suicide prevention resources should they be determined to be suffering from mental health conditions which cause a risk for suicide. The patient should also not be forced to undergo this and should the patient wish for a natural death, or life extension, that wish must be respected.
