Children should be taught the whole truth about American history with regard to race and should be forced to examine the reality of its effects on current American society through systemic/systematic racism. Intersectionality should also be taught and examined in the classroom. Students can formulate their own opinions, but teachers should always exclusively emphasize the truth. Teachers should also receive special training that includes intersectionality to equip them to examine their own biases, how to counter them, and how to best serve students in discriminated groups such as those that are BIPOC. Diversifying the books read in the classroom is also extremely important; i.e. reading books by female authors, BIPOC authors, LGBTQA+ authors, etc., especially works that highlight the experiences of those groups.
