Could you elaborate please?

As a divorced male who's daughter was only two years old at the time, I firmly believe that every individual child has the natural right to experience the roles of a mother and father and be raised within that structure. One's sexual preference as a person is a separate issue, but as the child is growing up, I believe they are the most well-rounded when they have both an active father as well as an active mother in their lives. Gay couples should be allowed to adopt only when they are found to be more psychologically and financially fit to meet the child's needs over any heterosexual couples who express an interest in the child.
