Our border is defined by the Rio Grande River, and therefore is subject to erosion. The amount of privately-owned land necessary to sustain it would be inequitable to other parts of the border in the Southwest US. I do, however, feel that we can better fund and monitor the Texas and Mexico border. There are high-volume illegal crossings in our state. They are defined and their locations are known. If we are to build a physical barrier, then target those areas. And, once the barrier has been erected, financially subsidize the cost of the private land required for construction. Then, adequately fund other ways to monitor and enforce the rest.
