Yes, but the government should hire experienced panels of pharmaceutical researchers and economists with as few ties to the companies they are regulating as possible to regularly negotiate the prices of drugs rather than setting them at a fixed rate to ensure that as long as we rely on the private sector for pharmaceuticals that researchers are fairly compensated to allow them to pursue the development of more medicines.
