The alternative of nuclear energy has proven to be a risky process. Though few explosions are related to America, they have been a threat to the entire planet. Chornobyl, 1986, Fukashima, 2011. Three Mile Island, 1979. All different reactors in different periods of modernization. Maybe if we could use a safer method of nuclear energy where an explosion or accident isn't a worry... maybe. But in today's day and age, it hasn't been achieved.
