I've got to say, the fact that I seem to side the most with Marianne Williamson just gives me a feeling of absolute dread for the upcoming 2024 election.
The woman is just as much of a wackadoodle anti-science anti-vaxxer as RFK, with some anti-psychiatry and extra hippy-dippy-deepity nonsense thrown in, like how we should "pour God's love on our immune systems" and that "we come from another realm of consciousness and long for home".
Her Twitter is also full of weird nonsense like:
"When God is seen as He, the soul is seen as She. Just archetypes. Spirit impregnates soul."
"We're pregnant with the possible world."
"Imagine yourself pregnant with a better version of yourself."
How about imagining yourself pregnant with a sensible statement???
And let's not get started on that "Department of Peace". Golly gee whillikers, you mean our country ought to have a government body responsible for managing international and domestic conflicts, conflict resolution and diplomacy?
WE ALREADY HAVE THAT. THAT IS THE U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT.
MARIANNE WILLIAMSON DOES NOT APPEAR TO KNOW WHAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT IS.
THIS WOMAN WHO WANTS TO GOVERN THE UNITED STATES DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE GOVERNMENT WORKS.
She's also referred to the military as a "surgeon" that you only use when you absolutely need it.
No, honey, special forces are surgeons. The military is your G.P. And you want to replace them all with fitness coaches.
And maybe all that money you would like to spend on an entirely new governing body (without any explanation on where you're getting the money from) and the "Peace Academy" (????) would be better spent applying more conflict resolution doctrines to the U.S. military and the State Department, of which they already have plenty.
In this great war of ideas (yes, it is a war and everyone is fighting it) between left and right, the left isn't going to be done any favors having their ideas represented by this ineffective coo-coo woo-woo lady.
Our options are her, Biden, and RFK.
God help us all.

It's interesting you mention the Department of Peace, because it does seem redundant considering the existence of the State Department. The State Department, with the help of diplomats and other professionals, already works to resolve international conflicts and promote peace. However, Williamson's proposal might be trying to highlight the need for a more peace-centered approach for domestic conflicts as well. What are your thoughts on how best to handle domestic conflicts?
