Trump calls for Covid vax makers to release safety data

Speaking to Michigan's Tudor Dixon, President Trump called on Covid vaccine makers to release their safety data. Dixon brought up Joe Biden's new plan to release all new vaccines to combat Covid, the pandemic that has now been reclassified as an endemic, for which the government will recommend new vaccines likely every year.

In announcing the new vaccines, which will be made by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Novovax, Biden said he and his administration would be recommending that all Americans get them. Trump, who was president when the pandemic hit, worked with US drug makers to launch Operation Warp Speed to encourage the discovery and manufacture of a vaccine for the coronavirus.

They came to market shortly before Biden took office, and then Biden, using the power of the White House, sought to make those vaccines mandatory. He did so for federal workers, and many companies and local city and state governments followed suit.

"Joe Biden just announced that he's going to be funding a new vaccine," Dixon said to Trump. "He wants everyone to get this vaccine. And we're hearing about a lot of complaints from vaccine injured to say a lot. It's like an understatement numerous - the pharmaceutical companies have refused to release their data on vaccine side effects but we've seen cases of myocarditis, blood clots, heart attacks, they're all increasing. The research has never been released. So will you demand that the vaccine companies, the pharmaceutical companies release their vaccine data to the public so that we can see what they're actually seeing about the side effects of this vaccine?"

"Well, they should do that, you know, we're all in this together and they should be doing that," Trump said. "And frankly, anything new— and I hadn't heard what he said yet— but anything new has got to be looked at very carefully," Trump said.
