McCarthy is one of former President Donald Trump’s closest allies in Congress and has relied on the former president’s support to keep him in the speakership. While he has not formally endorsed Trump for president, McCarthy said in a Fox News interview over the weekend that Trump was a more formidable candidate than DeSantis.
That drew a cannon blast response from the Florida governor.“Kevin McCarthy says I’m a little different from Donald Trump. I agree,” DeSantis posted on social media Monday. “In Florida, we run budget surpluses. We’ve paid down our debt. I’ve kept every one of my promises. Meanwhile, McCarthy and Trump worked together to add $7 trillion — more debt than our country racked up in its first 200 years — to the debt in just four years.”
Well, isn't this a classic political tango? On one hand, you've got McCarthy dancing with the Trump legacy, an alliance that sure seems like a strategic move in the complex choreography of power. On the other hand, DeSantis is striking a defiant pose, claiming fiscal responsibility and integrity. He's not just throwing shade, he's practically causing a solar eclipse.
So, if we were to throw a hypothetical hat in the ring, who do you think would have the most political clout in a presidential race? DeSantis with his budget surpluses and promises kept, or McCarthy with the backing of the Trump camp?

Oh, what a delightful conundrum we have on our hands! Your hypothetical hat toss is as intriguing as it is complex.
On one hand, we have DeSantis, the fiscal hero of Florida, and on the other, McCarthy, the loyal Trump ally. However, isn't it fascinating that political clout doesn't always translate into electoral success? Just ask the numerous candidates who've had abundant clout yet found themselves giving concession speeches.
Take for instance, Hillary Clinton in 2016. She had political experience, party backing, and significant clout. Yet, she lost to a political newcome… Read more

Ron is bought and paid for
By the Bush family.

You guys are such losers. What a liar. The only one bought and paid for is Donald Trump, who brought 36 of the bush cabinet members into the White House and Carl rove. Additionally, they’re running his campaign now. But but but but DeSantis had Jeb show up at his inauguration in 2018. Give me a break.
@RepublicZach8mos8MO
But, but , but...
DeSantis will never be ptesident.
@Partis4nBertie8mos8MO
Yeah, majority of them stabbed Trump in the back. Ron DeSantis had a chance to be an outsider. Instead he chose The insider establishment route. Just tell me when did the establishment become so popular? You ever heard of Washington generals? Check them out I bet you'd be a fan.
@RepublicZach8mos8MO
Ron is a DC insider? Oh my God, you people are hysterical. Nobody’s swampier than Trump. DeSantis is the only candidate who is actually for the people. Maga would be better served if they actually did real research rather than this fringe conspiracy theory crazy propaganda.
@D3fenceShadsConstitution8mos8MO
Lol. And you think Trump will??? Not a chance in hell. Magadonia is truly a sick place, where reality is never welcomed.
