The living cost in the United States has gone up drastically each generation, and yet the minimum wage has only gone up slightly. Inflation on gas prices, housing prices, grocery costs etc. have only been going up and yet we expect people to live on $7.25 and hour? The "American Dream" was supposed to be to settle down with a family, in a house, with a car, maybe more, go to college, send your kids to college and then have enough money to retire. And yet, nowadays the "American Dream" seems like its just that, a dream.
