I agree with the last part of your statement, however in what world is having access to weapons of war similar to those found in purple Fortnite chests "cool AF"? Tell that to the thousands of people every year who lose family and friends every year. Tell that to the victims of Sandy Hook. I believe that it's important to analyze the context and actual meanings of all of the amendments to the constitution. When the constitution was originally penned, it's clear that the founding fathers wished to provide a legal way for citizens to overthrow the government in the case of tyranny. The second amendment aimed to upkeep a militia, as the army they had just used to fight Great Britian was made up of citizens with muskets. That being said, with the current weaponry and technology the national government has access to, as well as the immense political divides created by our pluralist government, there is no conceivable way that the people of America could overthrow the government. Furthermore, the constitution is explicitly written to be flexible and change with the times, as the problems in the 1700 and 1800s would be drastically different than those in the future. The founding fathers couldn't begin to comprehend the raw fire power of a Glock-16, let alone the assault weapons that are so accessible today. Random person, you're entitled to your own opinion, but please understand there is more to the issue of gun violence than just aesthetics.
