Tesla may have pulled off the strategic move of the century by cutting prices and sending legacy auto into EV hell.

I’m sure that’s how the history books will write it, but even without cutting prices legacy EV programs were going nowhere.

Tesla cut prices to expand the available market so they can continue to grow. As a byproduct it also makes legacy’s failures look worse by comparison, but it’s not the cause.

Ford lost ~$36,000 per EV unit sold in Q3.

Its gonna be very difficult for Ford or GM to survive the transition without some sort of government bail out. They wasted so much time in denial when they could've been building investments over time. Now its too late. They can't compete.

Kentucky Gov. Beshear's pipe dream for Kentucky. Ford has delayed planned operations on the second of 2 EV battery plants in Hardin County. The move comes as the company did not meet Q3 expectations & automakers are re-assessing projected demand for EVs.
