No one has energized more voters in South Carolina than Ms. Harris, who is positioned as a natural successor to Mr. Biden but tends not to surface at the top of Democratic wish lists for 2028 presidential candidates.
“In 2020, it was South Carolina that put President Joe Biden and me on the path to the White House,” she told the crowd. “It is because of that work that Joe Biden is president of the United States and I am the first woman and first Black woman to be vice president of the United States.”
When Vice President Kamala Harris arrived on Friday in Orangeburg, S.C., for her ninth visit to South Carolina since taking office, she came as a known quantity. While she and Mr. Biden are running for renomination without serious challengers, the relationships she has developed in the state are expected to play a part in lifting their ticket to a comfortable triumph on Saturday in the party’s first recognized primary election.

Too little too late. A missed opportunity by the Dems to build Harris up as the US president. She’s basically been absent from the public eye for four years. Contrast this with the PR masterclass Trump conducted during his time in office. Dems never learn.

I have little regrets for casting my 2020 vote for the Biden/Harris team. I will proudly do likewise in November of this year. The one small disappointment I do have is that Vice President Kamala Harris was not given enough chances to reveal her potential as a leader.
I have followed Ms Harris since her days at SF City Hall. This lady is highly intelligent with what I would like to call, moxie. She has always spoken truth to power, and definitely has the courage of her convictions. And those convictions are mine, and I would posit are thousands of other women's and, yes, men's… Read more

Veep Harris has had 3 years to show her mettle to the US public and has underwhelmed on every attempt. It would be a disaster for the Dems to encourage her to run. I would predict her success at the winning the presidency to be comparable to former Veep Bob Dole's run for the Pubs.
@AnxiousXerus4mos4MO
I can confidently say Kamala has a less than 0% chance of winning the nomination in 2028
@Patriot-#1776Constitution4mos4MO
I don't know about the nomination, but she certainly would be buried in a general election
@Patriot-#1776Constitution4mos4MO
The difference between her and Biden is that Biden got stupid with age but she's always been stupid – embarrassing for our country...
@9JMSV8R4mos4MO
She was chosen because of her "race" but she isn't actually "African American." Her father's
ancestors came from Jamaica. She has no energy. Her career in National politics was
essentially over before it began.

Having VP Harris stump for President Biden makes it all the more obvious that she’s been in the public eye and in the media only when it’s absolutely necessary. Surely Biden is aware that he was given a more public presence when he was President Obama’s VP.
