This amendment allots more power to the people at large while discouraging partisanship and the 2-party system in these such ways:
-Destroying the Electoral College, which has lost its true purpose in the presidential race, and promotes gerrymandering and partisanship, while disenfranchising the worth of a single vote in favor of disproportional voting depending on where a citizen lives. This destruction shall be done via an immediate abolition of these such powers of the Electoral College, and putting the sole power to elect a president into the hands of the people via the popular vote. horrible, horrible idea to destroy the electoral college
@9CJ6CB62mos2MO
Most every other developed nation on earth fully agrees that the electoral college is weak and unnecessary. It was necessary before, but we’re 50 states and 300 million people, an electoral college loses its purpose when the power of a small state exceeds that of the vote of someone from the other states.

The Electoral College ensures even the smallest states have a say in the election. If we switched entirely to popular vote, candidates will only focus on densely populated areas, effectively ignoring rural states. How would your amendment address the marginalization of less populated areas?
The implementation of an independent electoral body would be very challenging. How would you ensure its independence, especially when it comes to selecting its members? Also, a the three-branch oversight sounds good on paper but what if it leads to lengthy trials and bureaucratic slowdowns that could impact the body's efficiency?

Abolishing the electoral college will give more power to individual urban voters. The will of the majority keeps getting overturned by the electoral college.
