The Israeli evacuation proposal includes establishing 15 campsites of around 25,000 tents each across the southwestern part of the Gaza Strip, Egyptian officials said. Egypt would be in charge of setting up the camps and field hospitals, the officials said.
The plan indicates that Israel is planning an invasion of Rafah, despite U.S. and Egyptian concerns. Cairo has said that it would suspend a 1979 peace treaty with Israel if Palestinians crossed the border from Rafah to flee an Israeli offensive, The Wall Street Journal has reported.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to comment on the proposal. The Egyptian government couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Even as Biden has broadly backed Israel, his administration has become increasingly critical of Israel’s prosecution of the war and a potential operation in Rafah, and is instead pushing for a negotiated settlement to the four-month-long conflict. For now, U.S. officials said they don’t believe an invasion of Rafah is imminent.

Most of the Arabs and Jews in the Middle East understand that Israel has to go into Rafiah in order to survive in this neighborhood. This war is also against Iran and its other proxies.
Westerners find it hard to understand that they are playing in Hamas’ hands by blaming Israel for civilian casualties. It is part of Hamas strategy to manipulate the West and use Gazans as human shields. Too bad that Hamas doesn’t also try to reduce civilian casualties - both Israeli and Gazan.
The civilian to soldier casualties in Gaza is even less than when America went into Mosel - even though there are more challenges in Gaza. Military people are already coming to Israel to find out how Israel was so successful in reducing civilian casualties.

Don't confound war of liberation with war for occupation.
@DrearySealDemocrat4mos4MO
The amount of concrete that was used by Hamas to build tunnels is equivalent to 80 Empire State Buildings and Gaza was free from 2005.
@UnityRiceRepublican4mos4MO
Perhaps this should be directed at Hamas, that hides amongst the million civilians in Rafah, and uses schools, mosques, hospitals, UNRWA sites as cover and women/children/elderly as human shields. You're a Hamas apologist.
@E1ectoralSausageRepublican4mos4MO
Hamas has no basis to blame Israel for casualties in Rafah, since it was Hamas that decided to move hostages into Rafah and thus make it a legitimate target for IDF operations.
@BoldSeafowlVeteran4mos4MO
Either you win the war or you don't -- there can be no negotiated settlement with HAMAS -- as they have made their goals very clear (and their actions speak louder than words).
