We agree on 78% of things. The first I looked at, was that you also do not believe we should be forced to inject anything into our bodies. Anything else was similar enough, or wasn't really a make or break it. You seem like someone I'd share a glass of wine with. So I'd like to propose a toast, as our elbows rest upon this old sturdy wooden table between us. But first, the issue at hand: I would like to see some extremely affordable homes, for EVERYONE, built ASAP, please. I'm in Issaquah, WA. This entire side of Lake Sammamish (you may not even need a map for that being that you're so close) has 0 structures to move into that we can afford. We're all being pushed out to areas that are too far from our jobs and this is causing traffic congestion. The issue is that those in power on the city counsels (Tola Marts, here in Issaquah) are putting moratoriums on building plans for any reason they can muster up, and ultimately shutting the doors to the cities, ignoring population growth. This is causing serious repercussions by halting the structures needed to house everyone. After having done research, 60% of us in Issaquah are single occupants and do not require the 2-5 bedroom units/homes that are typical here. If there were more studio/1 bedroom units built, we'd move to those instead of having to have roommates, rendering us independent AND this would open space for those who DO need more rooms. The housing crisis is being addressed north, south, and west of the lake but not east. Not east! Another issue this is causing is that of crime rates to skyrocket, such as blatant drug deals at our safe local pubs just so our "average Joe" can make ends meet. And theft is on the rise because people can't afford anything anymore. This is the most important issue we face today in my opinion. We need affordable homes and we need them now. Government HAS to start taking a stance on a state level to control those in power on a city level to start taking the initiative to build NOW, or face repercussions of some kind. We don't have any more money or time and we, the little people, are the legs on which everyone stands on... and the foundation of this wooden table is collapsing. If you are able to sit on that throne I am voting you in for, please help us. Cheers, and good luck.
