First came the news that prosecutors in special counsel David Weiss’s office had decided that the confidential FBI informant who had been one of Biden’s top accusers had been lying and that they were charging him for lying to the FBI.
That comes down to the new federal charges against Alexander Smirnov, the once purportedly trusted FBI informant who the Hunter Biden special counsel’s office now says is part of an ongoing plot to spread “misinformation” and “lies” from “Russian intelligence officials,” not just about 2020 but to affect the 2024 election as well.
News broke last week that Smirnov has admitted that he got his false stories from Russian intelligence officers. Smirnov isn’t just at the center of the DOJ investigation, he’s at the center of what we have to generously call James Comer’s House inquiry, the premise for Joe Biden’s increasingly wobbly impeachment.

I have come to believe that we have been in an information war with Russia and losing since at least 2014.
Now, half of America knows we're in this fight, the problem is the other half are fighting for the wrong side.
The danger to American democracy has never been greater.
@NoblePupLibertarian3mos3MO
You are concerned about American democracy? Because only one-half of Americans want to fight Russia? If we like American democracy, shouldn't we celebrate that other half?
@SolemnMusselGreen3mos3MO
What democracy are Americans people supposed to be fighting for? Taxpayers money are being used by the elites to create chaos all over the world now the consequences of it is coming to bite us in the *** and we are blaming Russia for our failure? America need to wake up.
@NeedfulParliamentDemocrat3mos3MO
Parroting Russian disinformation while blaming Americans for said Russian disinformation is peak MAGA.
@G3rrym4nderCurDemocrat3mos3MO
It started even earlier, with anti-vaxx disinfo.
Around 2000, those groups gathered steam via email and later Twitter.
The Twitter anti-vaxx groups became anti-Clinton groups around 2014-15.
I can trace the anti-vaccination behavior and later political behavior in extended family
@NeedfulParliamentDemocrat3mos3MO
Losing in part because Russia has a fifth column in the west. In the US, it's called the Trump/Republican Party.
@VisionaryVotingDemocrat3mos3MO
Even if it wasn’t their main goal, the undermining of MSM as a reputable source of information has lead to the rise of more than one “reality” depending on what echo chamber a person is immersed in-
It’s truly bizzare to see so many ppl who refute mainstream media as being fake
It's bizarre to see that 13% of the US still see them as credible after the years of false narratives.

@EuphoricNightingaleDemocrat3mos3MO
The more I think about it, the more it seems the main story of the past decade has been Russian disinformation to undermine U.S. democracy.
@R3gulationGranolaGreen3mos3MO
“The main story of the past decade” lol
@AmazedFederalistSocialist3mos3MO
'And the next decade as well'
