There isn’t an honest bone in Xi Jinping’s body, and he IS the Chinese state.

As such, we shouldn’t take anything the PRC has to say at face value.

It’s been 4 decades that the West has been underestimating China. When you are seeing your country decline and another country that’s very different from yours progress and surpass you it’s natural to construct a feel better narrative. In fact othering is the order of the day in the West.

Get used to it the gap is only going to increase. China meanwhile does feel pity for the pathetic bunch.
