Is it possible for a country to remain completely neutral in international conflicts, and what might motivate them to claim neutrality?

i thibk it's possible for us to remain in a neutral state. we don't have to be in conflict with anyone, just be neutral.

it is possible Sweden did it in ww2, a country would do that to stay out of the war

This question goes a while back to when the U.S. didn't want anything to do with anyone, it's interesting to see if the country still holds up to what they said

I believe our nation should be neutral with everyone and stop trying to be the world's peacekeeper.

Should the global economy and supply chain stability influence how countries address foreign wars and conflicts?

 @9LL86MT from Texas commented…2mos2MO

We should be focusing on fixing the problems in our country rather than sending money to other countries.

My opinion is that the U.S should stop helping to fund foreign wars when they should use taxpayer money and focus on other financial issues such as student loan debt, healthcare, etc.

Can peace proposals that come from countries with strong ties to one side of a conflict be trusted to be fair and unbiased?

 @9LL9MQZ from Georgia commented…2mos2MO

People can lie, although I'm sure the US government is well-aware of that. A country who previously had strong ties with one side of a conflict most likely should not be trusted with peace proposals, unless there is an economic reason behind it.

The UN and their attempts at peace have either been laughable, or veto'd by a country with close ties to one side of current conflicts. It is despicable, and there needs to be more accountability on the world stage.

How do you feel about the role of economic interests in the decisions countries make about foreign conflicts?

Do you believe world powers can truly set aside their own interests to achieve peace in conflict zones like Ukraine?
