It's sad to see the continued escalation

I don't think either China or the EU will gain anything if this escalates into a full-blown trade war but it increasingly looks like that is where things are headed

Beijing knows what it must do to avoid all this. DG Trade has told them over and over again. Level playing field, equal trade.

It takes two to tango. DG Trade is not in a position to unilaterally declare the terms of a bilateral trade relationship. If there is a genuine case of unfair trading policies to be made then why not take China to the WTO and settle it there?
