It's a bit concerning, though, that there wasn’t a more competitive race for the SNP leadership - doesn't exactly scream 'vibrant democracy' within the party, does it? Hopefully, Swinney brings some level-headedness to the table; the SNP has been all over the place with their independence push. But, unity or not, I'm skeptical about how much they can actually achieve under his leadership without addressing the broader concerns of all Scots, not just the independence issue.
