I also wouldn't agree that the average person needs to be able to own an assault rifle to be able to effectively express their 2nd amendment rights. I believe in the current place of the world, we see more school shootings in America than anywhere else, and a staggering number of those involve AR-15s. To me, the issue isn't about the gun, it's a cause and effect issue to mitigate the death of children right now while we work on the country. I have no intention of giving greater rights to someone who wants to own a rifle for enjoyment over a child's life. Laws can change in the future, but we need change now.
