I am on board with punishing participants of the medical procedure, but we need to recognize two things.

A) These women are often young victims of intense societal pressure to murder their own children. It may not be charitable to them for us to punish them so harshly even if what they did is wrong. I am not saying they should get off completely free but it is not impossible to rehabilitate them and allow them to naturally recognize the evils of their action.

B) The man is not necessarily at fault for abortion. We would be punishing a man for creating a human life, not ending it. Punishment for them should only be the case if it is evident that the action of the man was cause of the procedure being done (such as funding it or encouraging it).
