Inflation and prices go up every year so how are people supposed to pay for those higher priced items when they make the same they did when those items were half the price. People say raising it will cause job loss and strain on small businesses but if people are earning more they are going to be able to give back. The circle feeds into itself, people aren't buying because they don't earn enough money to spend.
