I agree that everyone should be well-trained and pass tests to prove their knowledge and understanding of the proper way to use firearms but I do not agree that restrictions should be relaxed. I think there should be more restrictions. It's people that are killing other people with guns. If we just let anyone get a gun, there will be more gun violence than we already have. There should be intense mental health screenings, background checks, and other restrictions that will make sure guns aren't getting into the wrong hands.

 @BB2SHY2 from Maryland  disagreed…5mos5MO

I understand why this person could say this, but it doesn't defeat the fact that people who own firearms will still use them for the wrong reasons, and people can still get guns from third-party gun traders and resellers. This has always been an issue and likely will always be unless the US decides to take action and prohibit casual gun sales. Knowing how to handle the gun doesn't mean you can't use it for bad.

 @BB2SPYV  from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

Yes, people need to be trained, and owning a gun is your constitutional right, but you also have to realize there are bad people in the world. We as Americans need to look out for people who could potentially be dangerous with a weapon.

 @BB2QG35 from New Jersey  disagreed…5mos5MO

while it makes sense it should be more balanced as everyone has the right to the second amendment but must be a bit regulated to reduce the amount of gun violence and shootings.

 @BB2STBB from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

Even if someone answers all of those questions right they could still harm someone or harm themselves, no test is going to tell you if someone will be safe with weapons... LYING IS A THING!!

 @BB2S8B5 from Massachusetts  disagreed…5mos5MO

Do you think that people should own nukes if they are properly trained? If no then you agree there should be some restrictions on weapons and we need to figure out where that is. Though I agree with you for the most part some guns shouldn’t be allowed to the average person.

 @BB2SKRYIndependent from Texas  disagreed…5mos5MO

I agree with this because they just hand out guns when people have the money and are above a certain age. They need to do background checks and require a class or a course to limit any danger happening.

 @BB6R895 from Wisconsin  disagreed…4mos4MO

Even well trained people can have previous offenses with guns, or have a history of mental issues or other factors that could affect them in the future. If they become mentally ill as a result of these issues that could have been inspected in the background check, that puts people's lives at stake if they would still have access to a gun simply based on the criteria they know how to use it.

 @BB2V6R5 from New York  disagreed…5mos5MO

i think that there needs to be an intense background check before anyone buys a gun. iwould perfer for there to be no guns at all,but we are in the U.S and we have a lot of freedom so its just not going to happen.

 @BB6ZW5V from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

I do not think that gun restrictions should be relaxed. I anything, they should be stricter. Perhaps consider background checks and more testing of mental state before allowing them to purchase a firearm.

 @BB57XMQ from Illinois  disagreed…4mos4MO

I think we should focus more on who the gun is being sold to, rather than the training they have to go through.

 @BB2SPB8 from Colorado  disagreed…5mos5MO

I think people should have their 2nd amendment respected, but if possible, voting should be held on setting mental health tests in place in order to get a gun license.

 @BB2VZ39Progressive from Texas  disagreed…5mos5MO

Regardless of training and tests, there is a high chance that somebody will lie through and use said firearm for illegal purposes. It is needed to place more restrictions over firearms regardless of status, results, etc.

 @BB2TB3CNo Labels from Illinois  disagreed…5mos5MO

I think that the restrictions are not enough and more laws should be implemented with a stricter age limit.

 @BB2SBNR from Ohio  disagreed…5mos5MO

Just because someone knows the proper way to handle a firearm doesnt mean they’ll use it appropriately or follow rules

 @BB2MZ6MRepublican  from West Virginia  disagreed…5mos5MO

When I think of gun control I believe that everyone has their own 2nd amendment rights to guns. I believe that you shouldn't be a criminal and there should be background checks up everyone is entitled to conceal carry.

 @BB2TPW5 from Arizona  disagreed…5mos5MO

Open carry laws should not be banned because the number of deaths each year due to gun violence is more than most other countries in the world. Laws should be place that protect policemen's rights and other trained officials' rights; however, another alternative is if they ban everything besides small handguns and hunting rifles—no ARs, no AK-47s.

 @BB2QV3DNo Labels from Missouri  disagreed…5mos5MO

If the restrictions for gun control were relaxed, then there would be the issue that there would be more acess to these weapons, causing more shootings, especially with how much negitivity is currently happening within the government currently. Even if there were tests to make it so that everybody knew how to handle a firearm, it would still allow for more access to the weapons. Though guns shouldn't be counted as illegal, making the restrictions for them shouldn't be relaxed because this would allow for more people to get access to them and possible hurt a lot more people.

 @BB2WKGLdisagreed…5mos5MO

I think everyone needs to be above the age 25 to get a gun because peole are getting out of control and people mental health just isnt the same everybody crazy.

 @BB2VN7X from North Dakota  disagreed…5mos5MO

I feel like people especially dealers or state government should implements laws and have checks and test to see if you are responsible and on the right mind for a gun.

 @BB2SD93 from Minnesota  disagreed…5mos5MO

There should be more protection when buying and using a gun, because all of the school shootings and unnessecary deaths.

 @BB2QMPY  from Florida  disagreed…5mos5MO

Anyone can buy a gun which is not a good thing because a gun could kill and a freewill to buy a gun could cause more deaths

 @BB2NN3D from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

i believe that people who have a documented mental illness, such as depression or a series of crimes, should not own a gun, which if they do get the gun, they could harm themselves or could harm someone else or mutiple people depending on the situation.

 @BB2X99H from West Virginia  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree restrictions should be relaxed to have the innocent people be able to defend themselves but they should be well-trained. The tests should be more on a mental check to make sure the purchaser isn't mentally ill.

 @BB423TY from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

Gun control should be way more restricted and the government should provide money for public and private schools to have metal detectors.

 @BB2XRJN from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

anyone can pass tests. that doesn't mean they are qualified or knowledgeable, case in point police officers.
