There are bad officers whom are either not trained properly or whom join with ill intentions to begin with. They do need more powerful weapons for certain people or organized crime. We should rather give proper training and have a permanent body cam footage and car footage for when officers are on duty. This long with receiving proper training and screening for whom will be allowed in the force to operate these weapons should help bring the violence levels way down and keep a more safe environment in every community.

If you were to abolish the police instead of enforcing more strict rules on the than who is going to uphold the law.

Govt makes laws .The police enforces laws. The upside of having a good police force exceeds the downside.

I do agree with this, some NOT ALL police do use their weapons just to feel powerful and do it just do do something 'cool', Some also don't think twice before taking action.

The police should have less weapons. Their first goal should be deescalation and they should have low caliber weapons as a last resort

The military is just that, the military. They are trained for war, not creating peace amongst civilians. The military already has their own police. Civilians are not in war, therefore they do not require military force to be policed. It’s far too aggressive and only causes civil unrest, as history has shown us.
