Paying taxes to the federal government ensures that vital federal agencies and resources down to the local level are working. There is a reason why Congress controls the funding of these agencies, and paying into the government means that you are paying for the decisions taken by elected officials and should have a say where the money that they pay into goes.

 @BBHR5NM from North Carolina  agreed…4mos4MO

When someone is required to pay taxes to the federal government they should be able to vote regardless of their citizenship.

 @BBKY5J8Independent from Oklahoma  commented…4mos4MO

I believe that the benefit of being an American citizen is that you are able to vote, so not everyone deserves it.

 @BBFJQWN from California  agreed…4mos4MO

Yes for sure. If people are sending their hard earned money to the government but aren't allowed to vote, it's unjust. Many lower class immigrants can barely make a living and on top of all of that, they can't even support the person they believe will be the best suited to run the country.

 @BBDQV88 from Massachusetts  agreed…4mos4MO

Yes i agree because if they are paying our community and contributing to our government they should be able to vote for legislation

 @BBHHBR2Democrat from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

It's unfair for individuals to be paying taxes on wages they've earned in our country and not have some say in our government functions, especially knowing the process for citizenship is years-long and unlikely to be fixed in the near future.

 @BBJSRCK from Connecticut  agreed…4mos4MO

Absolutely. America is build upon "No taxation without representation." Anyone who contributes to the economy should absolutely have a say in the sconomic plans and fund allocations.

 @BBDWTWT from Kansas  agreed…4mos4MO

Anyone as an immigrant should be able to vote, this is there new home and they should be treated with respect.

 @BBFCNS2 from Ohio  agreed…4mos4MO

they should have the right to vote if they live here they should be able to have representation in the form of a vote.

 @BBHLJL9  from Tennessee  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree. while they may be "foregniers" they are still currently in the state and should have the right to vote who conrols the state in which they live in.

 @BBF52H3 from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with this comment because if you live in the US and are forced to pay taxes regardless of citizenship, then you should also be able to vote regardless of citizenship. If citizenship is a requirement for voting then it should be the same for taxes.

 @BBHRGXS from Washington  agreed…4mos4MO

I feel like foreigners who have lived in the country for more than 7-ish years should be able to change at least local policies, especially immigration. I feel like in the current political climate there aren't enough people representing those who aren't citizens.

 @BBLGH9L from Tennessee  disagreed…4mos4MO

People who are not citizens should not be able to vote. I am confused to why this is even a question.

 @BBFVQ2G from Colorado  disagreed…4mos4MO

If someone is not legal, they should not be allowed to vote because they are a CRIMINAL. The statement itself recognises that the person is ILLEGAL

 @BBDT6XT from Indiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

Only citizens should vote for their country and foreigners should not vote because it is not their country.

 @BBDT6DW from New York  disagreed…4mos4MO

they should only be allowed to enter the country through a fair and legal way and if they dont they should be deported

 @BBNYLGF from Michigan  agreed…4mos4MO

I do agree because they have worked hard to get their way to America and they want to be here so they should be able to vote.

 @BBDXG4J from North Carolina  agreed…4mos4MO

I think that foreigners should have the right to vote in the U.s because they are human just like us.

 @BBF4QMG from California  agreed…4mos4MO

They should be allowed to vote regardless of citizenship because if someone is forced to pay taxes towards the government, then why wouldn't they be allowed to vote?
