What is the point of having free speech and having a free voice if we can't all contribute. Nothing makes us different if were all human and have an opinion to share.

Just because they are not official citizens yet doesn't mean they shouldn't also get a say in who is elected in the country that they now live in. Many people move to the US legally with a Visa and the process of becoming an American US citizen is long and can take many years.Why should they not be allowed to vote when they have lived hear for many years? I can compromise, they'd need to be living here at least for a few years on a Visa and actually be committed to becoming a citizen before they can vote, but fulling not being able to vote on what happens in your life just because the process to becoming a citizen is long, hard, and expensive feels quite rigged.

Voting is a right that all Americans are encouraged to use. Not allowing foreigners to vote in a country that they live and work in implies that they aren't American enough to make decisions for their country. This implication would be contradictory to the idea that "America is a melting pot" if the people living in it aren't apparently American enough to vote.

Citizens, no matter foreign, should have a say in voting. This is because they came to the US to live differently without being oppressed and should have a voice in a system they wish to join in on.

 @BBGCGTC from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

I agree, however those who have lived here a substantial amount should be given some form of representaion

 @BBG9ZYW from Ohio  disagreed…4mos4MO

The best counter argument is If they live here for over a year and know what is going on they should be able to vote.

 @BBHNCRZ from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

A common counter-argument to the position that non-citizens should not vote is the principle of "no taxation without representation." Proponents of non-citizen voting argue that individuals who live in a community, pay local taxes, and utilize public services—such as schools and infrastructure—should have a voice in the decisions that affect their daily lives.

If these foreigners are working in the United States and the decisions made by the president and the government directly affect their everyday lives, then I believe they should have the right to decide who makes these decisions for them.

 @BBBVD4F  from Kentucky  disagreed…4mos4MO

I think that foreigners should have the equal rights to vote,wither they are illegal or not,everyone should have the rights to vote wither they're from the United States or from Europe

 @BBFRS4JDemocrat from Michigan  disagreed…4mos4MO

While foreigners who are not citizens of the United States are not legally eligible to participate in the elections of representatives and political candidates, it remains true that the policies passed affect their daily life and their voices should be heard regardless of status.

 @BBJRK2Z from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners should also have the right to elect a president for the country where they're currently residing, whether a citizen or not; it is more of a label.

 @BBM7VPD from New York  agreed…4mos4MO

Totally agree. You have zero say in the matters of a country you aren't a citizen for. If you don't belong here and bring a net positive effort or contribution to our country then leave. If you are here to take our jobs, burden our health and community services, live off our taxpayer dollars and not really give back in a mean way to make this country better then get out.

 @BBH8HWC from Maryland  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with the author because if they are not a citizen they shouldnt have any say in our country.

 @BBGBLVF from Arizona  agreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners who are not citizens of the United States should not be making decisions regarding one of the most important American events.

 @BBGBBHH from Tennessee  agreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners should NOT have the option to vote. They are not a US citizen so therefore they should not be able to vote in any elections.

 @BBG6K4W from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree as this can easily lead to foreign corruption with the tens of millions of undocumented people in our country.

 @BBG42GVConstitution  from Idaho  agreed…4mos4MO

Agree. I also believe someone should only be able to hold any political office (local, state, and federal) unless their grandparents, parents, and they themselves were born in the US.

 @BBG38D2 from Colorado  agreed…4mos4MO

Foreighnors, illegal immigrants and Anker babies which are all illegal no thanks kick em out of my country!

 @BBFV3PL from Tennessee  agreed…4mos4MO

If you are a nonnative to the united states and you are an immigrant you should not have the same rights a amercian person because you do not contribute to the economy and you are not a tax payer

 @BBFTL6R from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

If the statement meant “citizens” instead of “civilians” then I agree. Only US citizens should ever have the right to vote in US elections! That should be strictly verified and enforced.

 @BBFS3QZ from Maryland  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree. Foreigners have no right to have any say in the UNITED STATES government since they are not a citizen.

 @BBGCMMT from South Carolina  agreed…4mos4MO

I do agree with this because having a tally of votes from foreigners will make it confusing when all the votes are tallied and shown because what if the foreigners don't even know who they are voting for and just vote to do it.
