AI shouldn't be allowed to be used for anything to do with politics. When it comes to campaigns the whole point is to show people who you are so they will vote for you and with the use of AI you aren't expressing who you are, but what you told AI to make up about you.

 @BBLLPFJRepublican from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

That those who create the deep fakes are not true to ones self and are afraid of the other candidates and must create something that is fake and false to gain an advantage.

 @BBLL6R9Women’s Equality from Pennsylvania  disagreed…4mos4MO

AI technologies are becoming more advanced with more training; there exist models that can near-perfectly mimic photographs (e.g. Google's Nano Banana Pro), making the potential to generate and spread unregulated misinformation higher than ever before.

 @BBLDNMP from New York  disagreed…4mos4MO

Why would you be okay with fake images or videos of people being made doing stuff that they didn't do

 @BD2SL67 from South Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

That political deep fakes leads to misinformation which in this day and age is exactly what we don't need.

 @BCZ3GKF from South Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

It is unregulated AI deepfakes pose an existential threat to an informed electorate, which is the foundational requirement for a functional democracy.

 @BCT4BQDDemocratfrom Maine  disagreed…2mos2MO

it could and mostly is used to strip the other contestants of its credibility, especially for non or less educated people then average it holds even more danger as they may not see that it is not a real depiction of what is happening, and therefore fake news might be spread.

 @BCRDRR9Democrat from Arizona  disagreed…3mos3MO

Deepfakes can ruin the stakes of an election and cause false votes to the other party when one side has been faked.

 @BCQSFX4 from California  disagreed…3mos3MO

Political deepfake could very easily build a false narrative and kill a campaign and even a career. Especially in the older voters in the US that have no clue how to tell the difference between AI and Reality.

 @BCPWHGB from Florida  disagreed…3mos3MO

Common sense. Politics should be fully transparent and honest with their intentions, no matter whether or not they will garner support. The people who agree should not be their concern, it should be their intentions and hopes to change.

 @BC5J3MM  from Wisconsin  disagreed…3mos3MO

Allowing AI deepfakes in political campaigns would lead to smearing opponents with lies. We have enough of that already.

 @BCKBL3Z from Wyoming  disagreed…3mos3MO

As an example we’ll use Donald Trumps use of Ai on his twitter(?). Ai is an issue at least generative Ai, it consumes drinkable water so unsociable people can have a relationship with a llm. It’s not only unprofessional, but promotes the use of AI in dumb ways.

 @BCHMWTYNo Labels from Missouri  disagreed…3mos3MO

Deepfakes can and are currently used to make revenge porn and csem and people SHOULD be very scared of this.

 @BCB5QKH from Pennsylvania  disagreed…3mos3MO

Utilizing deepfakes in a political campaign is objectively slander. It is a falsified representation of a person's character.

 @BC8Y4Z5Peace and Freedom from Minnesota  disagreed…3mos3MO

I feel like that doesn't make sense, because a lot of people actually believe them, and it will lead to larger problems. It's like a dramatic irony moment in a movie where the audience knows that it's fake, but someone powerful enough will believe it, and it turns into a whole war or whatever.

 @BC3JSLJ from California  disagreed…3mos3MO

Deepfakes are extremely harmful and can be very believable to many citizens who lack the capacity or interest in determining whether posts are truthful or not.

 @BBQ5FZM from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

Those who think deepfakes should not be banned should reconsider the conflict and how it could be used in a bad way.

 @BBN84JP from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

What use other than slander and false illegal activity, as well as false quotes, can be produced by political deepfakes?

 @BBMXW78 from California  agreed…4mos4MO

If there are deep fakes and people don't know what to believe it can sway votes for the president or peoples view on the government because it can make people think the Government is bad depending on what the deep fake is

 @BBM4MJ7 from California  agreed…4mos4MO

With the advancement of technology, creating deepfakes is becoming increasingly easy and realistic, which is alarming. There are unscrupulous individuals who could exploit this, using the face of a politician or candidate to convey a misleading and confusing message—not necessarily from someone in the political sphere, but from anyone—potentially generating unnecessary conflict and confusion.

 @BBLXWV5 from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

AI generated political deep fakes caused confusion in the elder community. you should not have to question whether or not something political is real that is insane.

 @BBNF58Z from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

AI is untrustworthy and can be used to stray people to make irrational decision based on information that may not even be correct.

 @BBNBYDZ from Missouri  disagreed…4mos4MO

how come? because the use of ai could give misleading information to other government agencies and the people of the country

 @BBLXCS8 from Connecticut  disagreed…4mos4MO

In a world of political confusion and disinformation politicians like Donald Trump weaponize tools of confusion, letting them use AI to trick Americans into falling for disinformation is unethical.

 @BBLW3R8Progressive from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

Political Deepfakes distort reality - and can interfere with actual facts and give someone an unfair advantage in our political system

 @BBLM4TSLibertarian from South Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

Taking jobs from many people who work in this field. Supporting Ai is pathetic and destroying human creativity and a cheap way to dehumanize our system and have less care in ads.

 @BBLHCVB from New Jersey  disagreed…4mos4MO

This can easily fool voters. It is a manipulation tactic. People, especially elders, can be easily fooled by this. As now, its hard to determine.

 @BBLKSV9Republican from Indiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

This is what creates so much propaganda and the reason behind why politics are so difficult now, why we can't believe what we see and why non biased material is so difficult.

 @BBLFM7L from Indiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

If you are using deepfakes for your political campaign, that’s blatantly lying and showing a false image of yourself. Other than lies and propaganda, it abuses the uses of Ai and environment it uses to make said advertisement.

 @BBPVBGJSocialist from Iowa  disagreed…4mos4MO

there is no reason we would need deep fakes for politics and transparently I'm insulted that I and other Americans even have to be asked .
