The best counter argument to my own position on the Electoral College is that many believe it is an outdated system that does not account for popular opinion and fails to represent small states, the truth is that it provides a balance to the federal system, and actually preserves relevance for every state in electoral votes. It allows candidates to gain support across varying regions, and prevents dominance in just one area. Debates upon this system are highly considered in current society.
