Should the electoral college be abolished?
No, the electoral college ensures representation of the whole country instead of just major cities
Eliminating the electoral college does not allow "only major cities" to swing votes
New York City is the most populated city in the country and it only has 8 million people. That's not even 3% of the US population. How does the rest of the major cities, which have less people, stop this. Currently if you convince the correct 25% of the population to vote for you, you'll win the vote. That shouldn't be possible. If you don't believe me, there's a very good CGP Grey video explaining it. The Electoral College is flawed and gives smaller states way too much power, not the bigger states and bigger cities. By removing it, every vote is equal in a popular vote.
