We still shouldn't take guns away just because someone randomly snaps, or because "children aren't aware of the dangers", We should teach children how to properly and safely handle firearms, and the responsibility with using them. As well as addressing why people feel the need to take an innocent life in response to mental illness or outside stimuli. Taking guns away only harms law abiding citizens and makes the government more likely to trample on our other rights since we wouldn't have a way to defend them.
