In my personal, honest opinion, I don't even think being transgender should be allowed
I believe you are born a girl, then you should remain a girl, and if you are a boy, then you should remain a boy. I think it's a mental illness because you believe you are something that you are not which has been proved to be a mental illness. But I also agree with all the statements above.

The United States is a free country, and so you should be allowed to be whoever you want to be, as long as it is within reasonable law. For example, you can identify as a millionaire without anyone being able to do anything about it, but you can't go to a bank and withdraw a million dollars if you don't have that much money in the bank. Transgenderism is the same way; while you can identify as the opposite sex, you remain the same biologically, physiologically, and metaphysically. Therefore, while you can be transgender and have the same rights as anyone, you shouldn't be given additional rights just because of that identity, including the right to participate in athletic competitions regulated to the opposite sex.
