Criminals causes crimes, not the guns themselves. Guns are just tools, such as a knife or a hammer. It is the person.

I agree guns are not what kill people people kill people. Take the UK for example they have a signfiicant rate of stabbings instead of gun violence and so violence still occurs. People kill people not guns. Furthermore gun control impeads on constitutional rights of citizens.

That is wrong. Most cities with a lot of gun violence also have a lot of gang violence and rime that plays into gun violence. More restrictions just make it harder for bad individuals to get their hands on guns.

 @BCYDDWT from Illinois  disagreed…2mos2MO

If an act of gun violence happens in these cities, the police should have the responsibility to arrest these criminals, give them a proper punishment based on the extent of their crime, and then dispose of the guns that these criminals used, never to be used again. More guns or less gun restrictions may not lead to "less violence" but less restrictions don't lead to any more safety.

I agree, and to add to it, many of the restrictions gun control advocates already push for to get guns out of the hands of criminals would be enforceable if judges and courts wouldn't lessen serious charges or let violent offenders walk free of any charges or punitive actions. You cant ban a violent felon or domestic abuser from buying a gun legally if they have charges reduced to disorderly conduct or dismissed altogether. The background check system can only see what the courts report to them.

I agree, if we ban guns now we don't have protection from criminals with guns. If they're already doing illegal things they're going to buy guns anyways. Some people need guns for hunting to support their families.

I agree with the author and I believe our rights and liberties are more important than security and safety.

Yes, I absolutely agree. Cities like Chicago have high crime rates even though they have stricter gun laws. More gun laws restrict lawful owners rather than stopping criminals.
