Democrats demand Trump remove toxic White House construction debris from a public park

Today, a group of 61 House Democrats formally demanded the Trump administration remove a massive pile of demolition debris currently sitting in East Potomac Park.

The debris originated from the construction of a new White House ballroom and includes materials from the East Wing demolition. Lawmakers and health advocates warn the waste contains hazardous heavy metals and asbestos, posing a significant public health risk to park visitors. The pile was reportedly dumped near a popular golf course, raising concerns about soil contamination and toxic dust in a high-traffic recreational area.

The Interior Department is now under pressure to provide a timeline for the safe relocation and remediation of the site.
