Yes, and it should have been done years ago. We should have had a McDonalds in Havana the day after the Russians cut off foreign aid to them. There is no argument for not doing so...if we can overlook the human rights violations of China, our largest trading partner, we can do so with Cuba. Believe me, that’s a misguided notion. They’re on of the most democratic nations in terms of constitutional law, their issue is internal corruption, something that we cannot fix by invading, pressuring, or forcing the Cuban government to break. The people WANT them, almost overwhelmingly in fact, and we’re intentionally ignoring that and orchestrating protests. I get that they have severe concerns of their government, but we need to table that until trade embargoes are lifted so they can actually afford to survive and grow.
