Funds need to be redistributed. Amount spent on contractors is crazy and can be allocated in other places

 @9TZJ4WTIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

I think that before any increase or decrease, there should be extensive efforts to see whether money is being wasted or could be used more efficiently.

 @9RMG3GJ from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Reduce the military to its engineering and development cores, keep all the MPs and military who provide a service

 @9RGS32Y from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

make the military have a limit of people and then use the rest of the funding money for resources and shelter .

 @9R7JHW5Socialist from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, until more money is being given to active and veteran members and in maintaining their well-being, we should not give more money to military spending

 @5MWNQSWGreen  from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should audit the armed forces and increase current accountability measures, tackle wasteful spending, and ensure all current funding is being used at maximum efficiency.

 @9GYLVJR from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease funding for foreign wars and governments committing human rights violations, increase for those in desperate need (ex. Pandemic, genocide)

 @9GLKLK4 from Delaware  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, and redirect the funds to other ways of keeping the public safe (Housing, affordable food, etc)

 @9DCKV2K from California  answered…2yrs2Y

They should stop spending so much money on the military and send that money towards healthcare and public services.

 @9BNLQQM from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

Literally cut the military spending by 90% to spend on social programs such as education and healthcare... We have the Pacific ocean and Atlantic ocean to protect us.

 @9BHR9S4Progressive from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98Y7GM9 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

increase military spending for vulnerable territories; not too much military for an already secured land

 @95WM3VD from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that it's unfortunate but with the state of our world today it would be unsafe for us to lower our spending and weaken our military. Idealistically, we shouldn't need as powerful of a military as we have.

 @95RSKFC from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

Spending should be reduced by not allowing price gouging by contractors; service members should receive more funding

 @93XK6M8 from Montana  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93VNXMHSocialist from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, our military resources should be used more efficiently rather than wasting taxpayer dollars

 @93M7YYP from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Neither. Military spending should be audited and reformed, made more efficient.

 @93HH8RW from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

Funding should stay the same, but be redirected to projects that will actually matter.

 @93FNB9Z from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92ZZZZN from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease the budget for contracts to private companies aside from maintenance, no more expansion, and increase funding for pay and benefits for service members and veterans

 @92C54YL from Alabama  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZTHYPJ from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel like when it comes to certain time periods its best to increase in order to help provide, but in most times of peace regulate it more

  @sophmiller2004 from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease

The US is the country that spends the most amount of money on the military. It is the majority of our budget. Just think of what the US was able to do if we weren’t wasting all of our money on the military. It is too much, we could redirect it to building infrastructure, funding schools, creating social programs, you name it.

 @8YWDWGTDemocrat from California  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe in certain situations we should increase spending but when fighting is not necessary we should not.

 @8YSV7ZNSocialist from Montana  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease, it should be lowered from $715,000,000,000 to $75,000,000,000 and that money should go to a UBI for food.

 @bigmackay98 from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease to virtually zero, the US military does not need offensive capabilities in the modern world.

 @8VJ9XN7 from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease, and combine the different branches into a single, unified military force.

 @8TS7JNL from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TQQBS4 from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe a portion of military spending should be reallocated to other resources, such as mental health and underfunded schools.

 @8TDRKYJ from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

USA should not be involved in other countries politic and Wars. Reallocate the increases to military budgets to public edutacion and healthcare.

Decrease, and abolish the military in favor of handling foreign conflicts with diplomacy instead of violence.

 @8SW2C9J from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease by nearly half or more. Doing that, we could EASILY still have the highest military budget in the world and we spend entirely too much on imperialist conquest.

 @8PCDHFWProgressive from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8P8DL97Democrat from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Good defense is necessary, but we already have good military defense and we need to start increase spending on more important things.

 @8NW8F6R from Oklahoma  answered…5yrs5Y

I think the current administration should allocate military funds towards veterans and victims of PTSD. Funding should go back into the communities, rather than warfare in other nations.

 @Kchamb94 from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

They should redirect where the money goes. Pay the people in the military more, spend less on wars and weapons.

 @8NQ6Z8NIndependent from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Should only increase when it is needed meaning we are in danger of going into war with other countries.

Neither, it is fine where it is. It should only be increased when needed.

 @8NFM4PRRepublican from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

I think that it really depends on what they are spending it on. If it is important they should spend more. If it's not, they should save it and spend it on something important.

 @8N4KYZJ from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MSNG3W from Tennessee  answered…5yrs5Y
