Decrease, America spends more money on defense compared to the next 8 countries, most of them being allies.

 @9K8RGZM from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

I think they should just leave it constant, because the US is already in debt and their military is pretty good from what I hear and see

 @9HGD6PP from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that military spending should only decrease if there is a threat on the rise or if we are actively in the middle of some sort of conflict.

 @9F9YPPG  from California  answered…2yrs2Y

I would slightly decrease it, but I am okay with what we are spending as long as other issues gain attention.

 @9F2LHG4 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease it, and we can go back to the normal or even increased spending if we enter conflict

 @9DRL7ZD from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DCJ7BL from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

They should redirect it to more important parts of the military that arnt as developed

 @99CYMBNGreen from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Maintain current levels, redirect budget towards veterans affairs and repurposing old assets.

 @96NKHQP from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

I think it should be increased, but on important things like increasing pay for enlisted members.

 @96LWB68 from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

Give them a budget for every three months, and whatever is left after those three months are up gets redistributed to other things.

 @95Z2NB9 from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95Y9LYZ from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

decrease the deficit and only increase spending during dire global situations after said deficit is decreased.

 @95RSKFC from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

Spending should be reduced by not allowing price gouging by contractors; service members should receive more funding

 @95Q2GTQTranshumanist from South Dakota  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but put that increased spending towards actually improving the quality of life of our service members and improving the equipment they have to work with rather than just spending it on weapons

 @95PJF7SWorking Family from California  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be decreased but when needed give a valid statement why it is needed and evidence of the need.

 @95MZTKM from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The funding that isn't used should be used to get Americans off the streets, support healthcare, and be given as free scholarships to college students and struggling families. Or cut the funding in half for these improvements. The environment upnorth the usa is terrible. we need to recheck our highways and roads because potholes exist and aren't being dealt with.

 @95BN7BC from New Mexico  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but for the sole purpose of upgrading outdated equipment and keeping up with up and coming countries.

 @954PZYVLibertarian from Rhode Island  answered…3yrs3Y

 @jarryslavia94Transhumanist from New Hampshire  answered…3yrs3Y

it should depend on the level of US military activity; whether it’s just providing other countries the tools to defend itself or we’re just updating our weaponry arsenal.

 @94BN29W from New Mexico  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease but increase proper taxation to keep soldiers in the Army funded so they aren't in bloody poverty lines

 @937VR8L from Montana  answered…3yrs3Y

I think our spending is bordering on excessive amounts, but I think it is reasonably important to have some degree of spending, but 600 billion per year is absolutely excessive sounding.

 @937P3L8Transhumanist from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

We could decrease more, but I also am not certain where everything is dispersed. We don’t need nuclear weapons or intense spending in this area though.

 @92K5FCC from Louisiana  answered…3yrs3Y

It depends on whether or not the country is in a time of peace or a time of war

 @925VWZJPeace and Freedom from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease we need to focus on our self before dealing with other country cause we are tearing our self apart

 @8S66FC3 from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

The spending depend son the situation if theres a war then yes to increase if not then yes to increase

 @Richasrdsh1 from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

Currently as is, it should decrease but should increase in technological war advancements.

 @8R2NT5XTranshumanist from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

The military is a vital organ to the United States and even arguably the world. So as I don't think we need to increase funding I understand the need to maintain it.

 @8QXLGYD from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8QPSGQFTranshumanist from Georgia  answered…5yrs5Y

we should have enough of a military budget to deal with any kind of threat, to not only match, but overpower.

 @8Q63SVWTranshumanist from Tennessee  answered…5yrs5Y

I feel like depending on what the military is using the money for, their budget should be reevaluated each year.

 @8Q5MFQZTranshumanist from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

The goverment should adopt a coordinated national foreign policy strategy and fund defence appropriately as a component of that strategy

 @8PY7CNQ from Georgia  answered…5yrs5Y

We need to stop fighting pointless wars, reduce the size of the military/increase recruiting standards. Only bolster spending during war time. We also need to fight wars or conflicts more loosely with small specialized units combined with overwhelming air/naval capabilities i.e. (how we fought ISIS). Wars of occupation should be ended completely, and should have clear objectives with minimal time spent fighting the war.

 @8P6K7PY from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8P4DGJ7 from Arkansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase, but only to pay our troops more and after the deficit is reduced.

 @8P2YBTQ from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

decrease if there is peace in our country, but increase if there is a major threat or stuff like that.

 @AMY19 from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease unnecessary spending, but fund better for the soldiers themselves. With healthcare, living situations, etc.

 @8JPKP8C from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JMCT6S from Oregon  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8J5KHWD from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, but continue to fund research that can ultimately be applied to the private sector as well.

 @8HQHFKZ from Alabama  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8H6YL8Q from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Keep the same, but mandate a percentage to be used towards the benefit of the service member, thus improving overall work environment

 @8H3PW2RPeace and Freedom from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither , the money could go to other places that need it but at the same time it is used to protect our country.

 @8GJVWYGTranshumanist from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase, but only after the DoD passes an audit of all funds and surpluses, duplications and other potential cost saving measures.

 @kaitlynchurchTranshumanist from Wyoming  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, Spending should be used in ways that better benefit our Veterans and current military personnel

 @8DVDKQZ from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8DDSTR2 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CFVGZ7 from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CDLQ7S from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

I think they can increase it when black folks are being treated equally to white folks.

 @8C9X26K from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Don’t increase of decrease, spread it out equally some branches Like the air force and army waste money on things they don’t need. While of others like Marines have a smaller budget and have to deal with things like degraded gear and low budget homes with no A/C.

 @9BK7YCZWomen’s Equality from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

the government should decrease money spending unless it's for the military

 @9BBX8J4Peace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

We should not have to worry about having a strong military. We are all the same organism fighting over an earth that we do not own.

 @9B9P46LRepublican from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

We pay the U.S military the most money any military is payed so stay the same
