Whatever enables us to be competitive with the world powers, on multiple fronts. American exceptionalism! But we should prioritize our populations we'll being more than we currently do.
Funding should be reevaluated. Are we compensating soldiers and supporting veterans, or is the money going all to contractors?
Needs to be decreased until we see better allocation of funds; to mental health, family support, and payment.

The military doesn’t even know where there dollars are spent. If they knew that then maybe I’d be okay with their budget. They can’t account for most of their expenditures

This is a complex issue. Find out what is excess and cut it and fund what the military needs and what our expectatins are for the military.
