Decrease only by eliminating wasteful spending. Maintain adequate funding for military readiness, technological innovation, and fair troop pay

 @9F6YNVBDemocrat from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

 @94FCS3CDemocrat from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

 @2G382CSDemocrat from California  answered…1wk1W

I am satisfied with the current amount of spending ,cancel space Force and use those funds for veterans

 @9DLL4YZDemocrat  from Massachusetts  answered…6mos6MO

We need to invest in a modern military that’s ready for today’s threats—like cyber warfare, global instability, and adversaries like China and Russia—while cutting outdated systems and wasteful spending. I’ll support budgets that strengthen our readiness, take care of our troops and veterans, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. Strong doesn’t mean bloated—it means smart, accountable, and prepared.

 @9ZF99HGDemocrat from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease, we could get to a high deficit where spending more on the military could cause a recession.

 @9ZCF4QDDemocratfrom Maine  answered…10mos10MO

Decreas marginally, but there should be better oversight for spending. Like pass an audit which they have not in ages.

 @9YGHCT3Democrat from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

They should keep it it at a reasonable level, so that they can have money and finances for other stuff.

 @9YBML4RDemocrat from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease if possible, the current spending in necessary to establish ourselves and continue to represent ourselves.

 @9Y347KGDemocrat from California  answered…11mos11MO

I believe that government spending should be reviewed every 2 to 4 years and currently should never go over 555 billion. If it’s split correctly, evenly and use properly, I believe that this would be plenty of money for our government to continue to keep up and provide for its members. But if truly needed more money would be fine.

 @9XY5VC3Democrat from Rhode Island  answered…11mos11MO

Government sponsored military contracts need to be more regulated and investigated to prevent overspending and conflict of interest

 @9XWSW4VWorking Family from Washington  answered…11mos11MO

Whatever enables us to be competitive with the world powers, on multiple fronts. American exceptionalism! But we should prioritize our populations we'll being more than we currently do.

 @9XQTBTGDemocrat from Washington  answered…11mos11MO

Funding should be reevaluated. Are we compensating soldiers and supporting veterans, or is the money going all to contractors?

 @9XPVCF4Democrat from New York  answered…11mos11MO

Needs to be decreased until we see better allocation of funds; to mental health, family support, and payment.

 @9XMQGB4Democrat from Kansas  answered…11mos11MO

Reduce wasteful spending first and decrease and try to budget for education. Only increase when actually needed

 @9XHCL94Democrat from Mississippi  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, but only by a bit because we need to spend more on education and other community programs.

 @9XH8ZJCDemocrat from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Neither but we should divert spending and spend less on weapons and more on education, training, and benefits for our soldiers and veterans.

 @9XH2DK7Democrat from New Jersey  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease spending by reallocating some of the budget to education, healthcare, and the prison system, and only decrease the budget by 5-10%.

 @9XG5P6YDemocrat  from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease to Israel, increase to Ukraine, decrease aid to India and other countries that support Russia.

 @9XFLSBLDemocrat from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

This is an ever changing situation and the decision should be based on solid information from the military

 @9XBN4G7Democrat from Washington  answered…11mos11MO

I think that there should not be that much in spending from my taxes on the military. Don't get me wrong there is war and there is a lot of warfare that America is involved with and that they would have to spend money on the military for supplies and weaponry, I just wish that the federal tax that the government collects is more distributed to education and to the homeless rather than so much as in, billions of dollars spent.

 @9X9Q9H5Democrat from Kentucky  answered…11mos11MO

only put money twords whats needed. like training, medi care, vehicals, and over all better equipment

 @9X7563PDemocrat from New York  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease to focus on public issues and ensuring everyone has access to fundamental rights, but mainting high level of funding for the protection of citizens and development of technology

 @9X6TB9GDemocrat from Utah  answered…11mos11MO

Neither, but the DoD should be required to use part of their budget to better support Vets and active military families

 @9X67VWVDemocrat from California  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease - Government contractors are charging massive amounts in comparison to 20 years ago and these contractors have bought up smaller companies which has created LESS compatition and higher prices. Also, retireing miliary should not be allowed to work for a lobbing company or defense contractor for at least 10 years after retirement

 @9X2RMJ7Democrat from Pennsylvania  answered…11mos11MO

The government should worry about finding our military to fight for our own country and stop sending our troops and weapons and millions of dollars to other countries.

 @9WPTVF8Working Family from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

i dont really know how much is being spent and if that is enough or not so i dont think that im even qualified to answer this question

 @9WP59KRDemocrat from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

Again, another vague question. Increase if needed. Decried not needed. The government contracts with the private sector is where the corruption is anyway so it doesn’t matter anyway

 @9WNR6DBDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…11mos11MO

The military doesn’t even know where there dollars are spent. If they knew that then maybe I’d be okay with their budget. They can’t account for most of their expenditures

 @9WLR84MDemocrat from New York  answered…11mos11MO

decrease, spend it on more important things such as poverty, giving people aid that need it, and many other things that accommodate to the poor

 @9WLCTF3Democrat  from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Increase as necessary to assure democracy worldwide. Spend where it is the most benefit to the military

 @9WJF4LKDemocrat from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease, but maintain a good reasonable amount to keep the military strong and the country safe (increase only if needed then decrease back down when things are stable again)

 @9WGNJ3XDemocrat from Kansas  answered…11mos11MO

It should be less prioritized, as the money could go to places that improve life for the people of this country.

 @9WFCD6WWorking Family from Hawaii  answered…11mos11MO

decrease and how off a bit to see where we are and how we do with spending less money and if needed, find a way to find more affordable solutions.

 @9WDW3MSDemocrat from California  answered…11mos11MO

Stil have it enough to be able to deffend ourselves and have the best army in the world but not much more than that.

 @9W4NJ2BDemocrat from Colorado  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, but the monopolistic power our defense contractors have over the DOD really needs to be taken care of.

 @9VZD72PDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

We spend much of our military budget on providing for allied countries such as NATO members and they need to start pulling their weight and then we can cut down on the military spending that isn't even going to the US military.

 @9VYHYSZDemocrat from Utah  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease slightly, allowing spending on necessary items and training, and limiting spending on unnecessary or over the top items

 @9VVQDP4Democrat from Ohio  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease, but do it based on rooting out the rampant waste now so prominent, and in the face of true emergencies.

 @9VSRRLSDemocrat from New York  answered…11mos11MO

Make sure the money is being used for wars the American people support and that make sense for the country in the long run.

 @9VRHRL9Democrat from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease but only enough so that we are still able to maintain our military presence, capability, and strength

 @9VP88VRDemocrat from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

I would not go in with the aim of either increasing or decreasing the overall spending. I would look at where the money is being spent currently and maximize cost efficiency. I do believe the current size of the United States military is too bloated and needs to be scaled back.

 @9VM79V6Democrat from Maryland  answered…11mos11MO

This is a complex issue. Find out what is excess and cut it and fund what the military needs and what our expectatins are for the military.

 @9VKYY2HDemocrat from Washington  answered…11mos11MO

Funds need to be redistributed. Amount spent on contractors is crazy and can be allocated in other places

 @9VKNWVXDemocrat from Ohio  answered…11mos11MO

I believe the military contributes to the economy greatly and creates many jobs for people that would otherwise have a more difficult time finding employment; however, I wish the tax money we made in return from the military was spent on the people i.e. healthcare, infrastructure, education and etc.

 @9VD44YYDemocrat from Connecticut  answered…12mos12MO

It depends if we have reason to believe that our current spending isn't enough, or leaving us in a vulnerable sate

 @9VCCRQXDemocrat  from Indiana  answered…12mos12MO

If the other countries are able to use smaller amounts of money for their armies and some of them have almost as much or some even more than us, we should be able to spend LESS on military funds.

 @9V9G9QQDemocrat from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

Military personnel should be adequately compensated, especially when exiting the military or injured in any way. Living wages and beyond should be provided as well

 @9V9B2RRDemocrat from Colorado  answered…12mos12MO

If they were to decrease we would have more money for other things but if they increase you get better weapons for wars. I’m in between on this one.

 @9V7BRB9Democrat from Indiana  answered…12mos12MO

In times of war, yes, but in times of peace a reduced amount so while were still giving them enough for their research and tests we also have enough for ourselves.

 @9V6WCLHDemocrat from California  answered…12mos12MO

I believe that the government should put money into the military but it should not be drastic amounts since the United States is in a large amount of debt

 @9TZCCZ3Democrat from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

The military should be given enough money to protect the US and our allies. But the funding also needs to be controlled and not a free for all.

 @9TRMC69Democratfrom Montana  answered…12mos12MO

Un-privatize the military industrial complex so that Lockheed-Martin isn't bleeding the American government dry on every screw and nail.

 @9TNZTFFDemocrat from Illinois  answered…12mos12MO

If we think we are about to go to war soon, then we should increase spending. Other then that, decrease.

 @9TJ2JV8Democrat from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, reallocate funds to the welfare of active members and veterans instead of heavily investing in weapons.

 @9THJZX3Democrat from Connecticut  answered…1yr1Y

The government should either decrease or increase military spending based on the current events going on in the world, or if America is involved.

 @9TGL7ZKDemocrat from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Increase for research and development of new technology for military purposes, but not for purchasing/use of weapons.

 @9T9WXZ4Democrat from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I feel as we spend a little too much on our military budget, i would say to give it a slight/small decrease to use that money for other things.

 @9T8TZ5KDemocrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

i think they should just invest what is necessary because they have to eat, fight and many more things should weather they spend a lot or less is up to them because if we dcerease they wont have the materials to fight and that is an issue

 @9SY2RD8Democrat from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

Neither really!! I feel middle since there are increasing or decreasing the amount of cash but on the other hand they should spend a little on the spending

 @9SVHRZPDemocrat from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Military spending should only be increased if spent towards something of importance instead of wastefulness.

 @9SV5TV9Democrat from Maryland  answered…1yr1Y

I am happy with the current spending but I would like the U.S.'s defense dollars spent more efficiently.

 @9SS9H6GDemocrat from Maine  answered…1yr1Y

No, Russia, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuela and China are all working together to defeat democratic countries. We need to decouple from China

 @9SRRTBYDemocrat from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

It depends on the era that we are living with but its should be a decent amount of spending in my option

 @9SNWVW8Democratfrom Guam  answered…1yr1Y

Reallocate defence spending to defence against cyber attack and streamline the armed services with the most advanced weaponry.

 @9SJMC7YDemocrat from Maryland  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease spending, increase oversight and transparency. Implement more stringent waste and abuse regulations.

 @9SJ5BD7Democrat from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

They should decrease the spending towards conquest-like ordeals, and use that spending for defense instead of offense.

 @9SFSN4GDemocrat from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I think the government should only increase the spendings if we are currently at war and need the money.

 @9SF5WVYDemocrat from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Once an issue arises that requires an increase in military spending only then should more money be thrown into the armed forces

 @9SBWDM8Democrat from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

Maintain the budget indexed to inflation, but increase funding for advanced technology weapons and their usage.

 @9S56JPMDemocrat from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

I would like any budget for the military to be contingent on the military passing an audit, an accountability of the funds received and disbursed.

 @9S2MSXYDemocrat from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

I think the department of defense should be audited just like all other departments of the government

 @9RZY7C7Democrat from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

I believe they should increase just to be safe because I don't think the military should always be prepared for anything sudden.

 @9RZ6VT2Democrat from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I think that should be adjusted based on what’s happening in the world. I do think recruitment needs to be enhanced but also pay our service members better.

 @9RYFTKPDemocratfrom Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think people should be required to join the military for the health and unity of the country but not be required to serve during war time. Much like Switzerland. Ideally to help with the health crisis.

 @9RY2FCVDemocratfrom Maine  answered…1yr1Y

We should focus more on Unity, not conflict, Decrease spending only for defense to protect our lands and the west.

 @9RW4JYLDemocrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I think our military spending is satisfactory. The military is where many of our technological improvements first occur, so it's worthwhile to continue funding them. I also believe that we have an obligation to our allies as the big guns on the block to aid and protect them.

 @9RTDM29Democrat from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

Military funding should be invested in the VA to support veterans during and after their service before more in spent on implements of war.

 @9RSHHHNDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, unless we are in a time of war where spending needs to be increased. For now military spending should only change to maintain what we are doing now.

 @9RRRRB8Democrat from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, and figure out where the literal TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS that can't be accounted for by the audits are going. we can NOT trust our own military leadership until that leak of cashflow is found and patched at _least_

 @9R66YRGDemocrat from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, provided significantly more money is directed towards taking care of veterans. The current VA system is garbage.

 @9QVPVNZDemocratfrom Guam  answered…1yr1Y

Government should do the military spending which is necessary but not that much that impacts other fields.

 @9QTCQPZDemocrat from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Stay the same, but reallocate funds to help veterans, countries we have destroyed through war, and create new technology to keep us secure from cyber threats with advanced intelligence.

 @9QTBS6YDemocrat from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

The military should utilize their money more efficiently, they should be more aggressive negotiating prices to avoid price gouging from contractors, and budgets shouldn't be decreased the next year just because a department didn't spend it all this year

 @9QRJMB2Democrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Reallocate the current budget to increase funds for the VA and decrease bloat spending in other areas.

 @9PXTJ52Democrat from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

decrease because they can put that money toward social programs that support everyone including veterans who often come home disabled and mentally ill

 @9PV49T2Democrat from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

decrease, due to the fact that the situations our military has been fighting for years had come to a brick wall point and seems to slowly escalade

 @9P2P8CSDemocrat from Alabama  answered…1yr1Y

I think it´s best to keep it where it is because America has had issues with increasing military spending and many more suffered.

 @9NN7CXWDemocrat from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease spending on defense contracts, increase spending for soldier and civilian workforce salary.

 @9NBFRQZDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

I disagree with what the military is allocating their spending to. I also disagree with how much they get funded, but if they are getting funded this much, they should be using the funds in an appropriate manner.

 @9MJWM8KDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

The government should decrease military funding because more money can go to the citizens in poverty which can help them a great amount.

 @9MCKT6JDemocrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I think they should only increase military spending if there is a war or something similar going on.

 @9LMC5NVDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

The whole system needs an overhaul, increasing or decreasing won't necessarily promote the changes that would benefit our society and world as a whole.

 @9LDQL8CDemocrat from Delaware  answered…1yr1Y

We should decrease it because we are already way ahead of other countries when it comes to weaponry, so we should put less money into researching new weapons and wait for other countries to catch up a bit

 @9L4DX6HDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

Increase military spending but STOP giving to other countries, Focus on materials , oil, money for our economy to better, I believe we shouldn’t help others until others pay us back what they owe.
