Increase, but only after our deficit is drastically reduced

I believe that the current amount of spending is good, but we shouldn't be the policemen of the world. We should not have a large military base in Germany, protecting Germany. And we should not have a large military base in Japan, defending Japan. We must have a strong, vibrant and prepared military in the whole wide world.

 @ExcludedDuckRepublican from Arkansas  agreed…2yrs2Y

I totally see where you're coming from. For instance, the recent strides in technology such as AI and robotics could potentially reduce the need for physical bases and personnel in foreign countries. This could significantly cut down on our spending, while still maintaining a strong military presence globally. What are your thoughts on leveraging technology more in our military strategy?

 @9WSKHLZRepublican from Nebraska  answered…11mos11MO

Cut down a little on the military considering we’re ahead of everyone to my knowledge and try to clear some of the country’s debt

 @9F4B6Z2Republican from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

I dont really know but I guess it should increase because the military needs more attention

 @9F2ZMDPRepublican from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

If it’s getting spent on our country not others then no it shouldn’t be increased

 @9F2VFNHRepublican from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

increase military spending in order to have more combat-ready units in the event of war breaking out

 @9D9LSSMRepublican from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, funds should be moved around from big money wasters to more localized spending.

 @9D6QD2GRepublican from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Are we spending more to help out other countries because if that's the case it's fine right were it is!!

 @9ZWPK8BRepublican  from Tennessee  answered…10mos10MO

Prioritize decreasing the deficit before increasing military spending but increase military in cases of necessity only

 @9Z4F9VCRepublican from Utah  answered…10mos10MO

It’s hard to say. If the world situation demands more military coverage than yes, but if we’ve plateaued then so should the funding.

 @9YN4J9JRepublican  from Kansas  answered…10mos10MO

After an audit determine needs of servicemen to be the best armed force in world. Cut bureaucracy and waste before more funding.

 @9YM5YYHRepublican from Kentucky  answered…10mos10MO

The spending should be increased, if its for OUR military. when talking about military spending, it's because we loan billions of dollars to other countries in war.

 @9YM3BXJRepublican from Indiana  answered…10mos10MO

The military should have the budget necessary to keep our country secure, safe with updated equipment and training tools for optimal defense. But the budget should be audited and strict accountability practices put in place. Close the off market doors that are providing one way paths of weapons, ammunition and supplies to be sold out. Fair wages to our military personnel, with best medical and health benefits.

 @9YJX235Republican from Minnesota  answered…10mos10MO

It shouldn't have a change in funding, but the funding should be reworked and used more efficiently and effectively

 @9YJPGDQRepublican from New Jersey  answered…10mos10MO

Decreases a little bit as there are no tensions bettween our neighboring countries, but still have a military to support NATO

 @9YJG5N6Republican from Minnesota  answered…10mos10MO

decrease and that will happen under Trump. we were spending way to much money on things we didn't need to spend money on

 @9YDNXNXRepublican from North Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

I don't appreciate the large amount of money being sent to other countries, I like the military strength of our country but some of it can be reduced.

 @9YD9RPJRepublican from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

it should depend on whether or not the military one hundred percent needs to weapons and not just waste money for unnecessary things

 @9YCJYYCRepublican from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, I do believe the military should be defunded along with most other goverment programs as well until we have less of a dept problem.

 @9Y9SY6JRepublican from California  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease by eliminating defense consultants, the revolving door, and have employees learn to do their job.

 @9Y9G5F7Republican from Kansas  answered…11mos11MO

Like to other countries because Joe Biden spent over billions of dollars just for Ukrainian army and we are already in debt to our neck there is only a matter of time before we can’t breathe. And if you are going to spend that much money then spend it on our military like help out don’t give them a mouthful of money.

 @9Y8TT4HRepublican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

i'd say increase, cause if you look at other countries they have less spending but on par or or worse equipment then us. and even if our budget is how high as it is. we are the main superpower of NATO and we keep aggressive countries in check to keep potential and current allies safe, a great example would be Taiwan and China we have a military presence over there to make sure china doesn't attack taiwan and one of the reasons we are able to do that is because of out budget

 @9Y8PMSRRepublican from Iowa  answered…11mos11MO

if its for OUR country then go for it but if it for ukrane then we should just stop spending verthing

 @9Y8JS55Republican from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

Review spend efficiency of current budget so it can be decreased or sustained without sacrificing anything

 @9Y6RPRCRepublican from Indiana  answered…11mos11MO

we need to decrease cost but we need the size of our military Encase an event with China or Mexico strikes up.

 @9XX9LTZRepublican from Louisiana  answered…11mos11MO

I think it should stay the same because if they spend to much they could be in debt but if they spend to little they might not have enough equipment.

 @9XX2TN4Republican from Wyoming  answered…11mos11MO

Depending on what they are spending the money on, but the money should be used for the good of this country.

 @9XWZ8HZRepublican from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

We should increase our spending but not increase the amount of money we give other countries to be greater than our own.

 @9XWMFVVRepublican from Ohio  answered…11mos11MO

I think our current amount of money we spend on military is great, although we should avoid a\war so we dont have to spend any money on war and this question wouldn't exist.

 @9XWGQ67Republican from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Increase when we need the military ready for a possible attack, if there isn't one then decrease it slightly.

 @9XSX38NRepublican from Michigan  answered…11mos11MO

the United states has the best military in the world I say they keep spending but not as crazy as they are.

 @9XQSN8HRepublican from Georgia  answered…11mos11MO

The budget needs to be regulated. I have seen hundreds of dollars of food be trashed & tat is just one example I know of.

 @9XNC3X6Republican from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Neither, they should eliminate wasteful spending and incentivise private innovation through tax reductions and grants.

 @9XKS27FRepublican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Spending should be only slightly increased, if not redistributed and less focused on weaponry and materials for other countries.

 @9XKMQRQRepublican from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

When in times of war, increase, but when helping other countries, dont help them as much unless they're our allies.

 @9XH6MMSRepublican from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

I think military spending should be closely monitored so that we assure they are using the money wisely.

 @9XH4NHQRepublican from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

neither, we should hire poeple that can make military spending more efficient therefore providing more opportunities and incentives to the people working in the military.

 @9XFVJBZRepublican from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

I think that the government should always be increasing the military spending's, but slowly so that the US still has its power over other countries.

 @9XC4NR5Republican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Only is it is used for good purposes and not in a meaningless way, but it will higher our debt rate.

 @9XBLZ3SRepublican from Kentucky  answered…11mos11MO

increase it when tensions are high and when the conditions of the world are bad, but keep it neutral when things are going smoothly

 @KVF911Republican  from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

Neither, I want an audit into military spending and have the government make military spending more efficient

 @9X5R7NCRepublican from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease for a short time to help our own country with it's problem areas then increase it once they are fixed

 @9X5FTL5Republican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

I think that the cost of equipment and supplies is drastically hiked up in price to give the military more budget. The military should have a fair budget, but not make normal equipment like a bag of bolts to cost thousands of dollars

 @9X2SVWNRepublican from Alabama  answered…11mos11MO

Our military spending needs to go to our own country not other places when people are in need within the United States.

 @9WYFD7LRepublicanfrom Washington  answered…11mos11MO

I believe the us government should increase the military spending but I also believe that they should increase the minimum wage for the people who are working in the military and increase their benefits

 @9WX4XBDRepublican from Alabama  answered…11mos11MO

I think we are spending too much on the wrong things but the amount isnt the issue its where its going.

 @9WW3BZNRepublican from Utah  answered…11mos11MO

They should use the military funding to fix the broken system and gun wars going on in the US first. We are not the almighty nation anymore to be spending money sending to foreign wars where we do not have a legitimate stake in it

 @9WSDTKHRepublican  from Alabama  answered…11mos11MO

I feel as though our militay personel should be taken care of without question and should be payed more but also what is drasically.

 @9WPY8HCRepublican from Iowa  answered…11mos11MO

They should be more responsible and keep track of government owned military equipment better! America first!

 @9WMP98WRepublican from Virginia  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease because they have been wasteful with current funding and already have a sufficient amount of funding if they were better stewards with it.

 @9WM73FDRepublican from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

The government should increase military spending in times of war and if there is room in the overall budget.

 @9WLG32KRepublican from New York  answered…11mos11MO

We should spend as much as is needed to secure our country and take care of our veterans. The waste must be cut out.

 @9WHR64VRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

They should figure out a way to fund the military that doesn't raise the U.S debt wall as much as it already does.

 @9WHDW4HRepublican from South Dakota  answered…11mos11MO

It should only be increased during wars to afford more amunation and needs for the ones acrossed the sea.

 @9WF3FLFRepublican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Cut spending by .5% and use funding for internal deficiencies. i.e. Education funding, veteran help, homeless citizen programs.

 @9W6VDTYRepublican from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but the money must be tracked and spending needs held accountable. If it is not spent responsibly then take the money back.

 @9W6T262Republican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

They should be wiser in their military spendings. A lot of money is being wasted because they are flippant with it.

 @9W64SZ8Republican from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, not for buying new items and building new places. But for salaries, our military people do not get paid enough for what they do. They're serving our Country and they deserve to receive a good paycheck for their work.

 @9W5ZWLFRepublican from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Increase military spending but pay too as well to help people choose military as a career path with better than good pay.

 @9W458GMRepublican from Tennessee  answered…11mos11MO

Funding should increase, but stricter monitoring on the funds to keep the military from engaging in unnecessary spending.

 @9W3MJCWRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…11mos11MO

Too much lost money due to incorrectly managing funds. Can’t answer with 100% confidence until I know money is well spent. Like not giving to Ukraine

 @9W3LCJTRepublican from Tennessee  answered…11mos11MO

decrease dramatically, there is currently no need for an extensive military, it costs so much money and is the pinnacle for corruption to take place, the military industrial complex is the biggest factor in this opinion, there is no way any country is brave enough to invade us, keep conducting research related to the military and make it ready to be armed and systematically utilized very quickly

 @9VYCPM2Republican from California  answered…11mos11MO

Military Funding is important because they protect us however, for years all funding has gone to the military when maybe we should be funding something else like schools for education and deeper education to create more well-rounded citizens who will be able to weigh into political discussions.

 @9VV776MRepublican from California  answered…11mos11MO

Neither, but use current funding more effectively and require audits and review of out-dated policies and procedures

 @9VRX97MRepublican from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

It needs to be decreased because we are spending way too much money on military equipment. , and we need to get out of these useless wars.

 @79X493LRepublican  from Georgia  answered…11mos11MO

The military budget should not increase until the Department of Defense eliminates the billions in waste it has admitted to doing.

 @9VQ9K9SRepublican from Oregon  answered…11mos11MO

I think that we should put more money into our military and not have the money we give to the military go somewhere else like Hamas or Ukraine

 @9VPBGL4Republican from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

Increase during war time but in peace times slow down funding for building but increase funding for researching and creating new weapons.

 @9VL9F8SRepublican from Nebraska  answered…11mos11MO

We should increase when it is used for good, and not spent on giving our enemies assault weapons to kill us.

 @9VF3JL2Republican from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

Cut corruption and excessive spending in procurement, then see how far the budget makes it and decide how to adjust it accordingly.

 @9VBPSPSRepublican from Colorado  answered…12mos12MO

it depends on the situation the government is in. If they are on the brink of war then yes but if not just keep it the same.

 @9V9NV5RRepublican from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

Neither, we should stop spending so much money on the defense of foreign countries, especially those who put little money into it themselves.

 @9TW6QXWRepublican from Idaho  answered…12mos12MO

I feel like if what is being in spent is benefiting our troops the safety of America than it is fine where it is at. If they do not need that much money to ensure that then take some it and put it somewhere else in America.

 @9TRYX3ZRepublicanfrom Guam  answered…12mos12MO

Decrease it by a very small amount and use the money in circulation around the country to combat other problems and challenges for the good of the people.

 @9TH2L9CRepublican from California  answered…1yr1Y

We need to balance the budget this is a very loaded question. Obviously we need to protect our country but at the same time be budget conscious.

 @9TF5TQNRepublican from Wyoming  answered…1yr1Y

I think we simultaneously overspend and waste money on military ventures constantly. The military needs to quit engaging in psychological and other forms of warfare against its own people before we ever discuss anything other than lowering their funding for the foreseeable future.

 @9TBF3W8Republican from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Increase in regards to our own military for defense… not sending billions of dollars to other countries.

 @9T9FJNXRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…1yr1Y

I think the budget is just fine, it could go down a little but I mean I would rather us make sure our military is in tip top shape and need what they need if we were to go to war.

 @9SYVXCPRepublican from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Spend according to the current need, but always maintain the strongest military force across the globe.

 @9SQK54VRepublican from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

There needs to be more accountability in the spending of the budget, however, we support the growing of our military.

 @9SPGX3CRepublican from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

For our own military we spend enough maybe to much on the military but we should not help with for foreign military as much

 @9SP7QWXRepublican from Montana  answered…1yr1Y

it all depends on the later yes in the past if they had used the money right and wisely then yes they should be able to get a little more. but if they had been irresponsible, then no they shouldn't.

 @9SNHMM7Republican from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease a little. The military has a very bad spending problem which hurts us. If we fixed that we wouldn't have to give them nearly as much money. This could still allow us to obtain the strongest military in the world, which I think is good. But with the extra money we can use it to help create programs for struggling U.S citizens

 @9SNF66BRepublican from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, but we also have other problems that the US needs to worry about, but this should be among the top

 @9SMR4SBRepublican from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, because there is no sense in increasing military spending in peacetime, and decreasing military spending is a useful tool in deficit reduction.

 @9SMHW8WRepublican from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

I don’t want to increase spending of the war machine. I want to increase spending if it protects our borders

 @9SK7J4JRepublican from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

I would like better budgeting throughout the government in all capacities including the military we need to have a better analysis of our spending.
