All military spending should be public and decisions to increase / decrease should be based on that.

 @B6FCPHQ from California  answered…2mos2MO

The government should reduce it but not by much, we are where we are because of our military power. However, there are other programs that need more funding and therefore funds taken from military spending should be redirected towards said programs.

 @B5TPXM2 from California  answered…3mos3MO

Neither, I’m okay with the spending but I think the money can be spent more effectively and we allow companies to price gouge

 @B5JBY27 from California  answered…4mos4MO

The government should take into consideration that some of the people in the military are getting less than the minimum wage for where they are located.

 @B2YR57ZWomen’s Equality from California  answered…7mos7MO

Decrease, even just 10% decrease can benefit minority communities or better fund college students and employment pay rates.

 @B2V66TBRepublican from California  answered…7mos7MO

we already have the strongest military we should fund more if needed but not a lot of funding is needed

 @9XK2K4WIndependent from California  answered…11mos11MO

We should only increase spending if it means that our service members receive better living conditions and increased salaries first.

 @9XHXPYPLibertarian from California  answered…11mos11MO

The money should be better spent to reduce waste. The quantity is not the issue, the reallocation and poor financial management is.

 @9WCRL7Y from California  answered…11mos11MO

i would say not decrease but not spending the tax money on dum things and acually use it on military equipent that is usefull and helps them or citizens.

 @9VYVBXC from California  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease the amount of spending on the military and redirect the excess money to social programs that benefit the most people.

 @9VC9SV7 from California  answered…12mos12MO

Decrease, but maintain the pay of military personnel, benefits, VA programs, and decrease the extreme funding of nuclear weapons and firepower.

 @9TXKT55 from California  answered…12mos12MO

Increase, but only directly for the military living conditions, not for rich hedgefund political brats that want a luxury cruise and to witness the waste of ammunition, work hours, jet fuel, etcetera.

 @9S7P3V4Libertarian from California  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, AND have an official PUBLIC audit investigation conducted on EXACTLY where and how that budget is being spent, because we are somehow both in MASSIVE debt, but still somehow have the funds to wage unnecessary wars and fund genocides in other countries. (Also, more often than not they treat our Vets very poorly and refuse to help them after being discharged, anyway.)

 @9QZZTY2 from California  answered…1yr1Y

Increase but use the increase to help w physical and mental healthcare, homelessness, addiction, and programs to help ease back into nonmilitary life, and education. This should be for all active, inactive current military, dischared and retired military, veterans, and their families.

 @9MK8MNH from California  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, if spending is towards something is unecessary do not get it and instead use it for educations

 @9KCMD8PIndependent from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Ensure government contracts are highly reviewed to ensure spending is in line with what the product/service should actually cost. End the granting of contracts where the government is severely overcharged.

 @9JRS78B from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Military spending should be accounted for at least. Where's all the money? We do need a strong military so we can protect our nation and not everyone else's countries. Only spend when needed. It's a complex issue.

 @9JHF7JR from California  answered…2yrs2Y

We can probably tighten the budget but other budgets need to be shrunk far before we address military spending.

 @9J7RQJ9 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

i believe it could be split and can. be used for other things, that said some funding goes towards military family members so it can be controversial

 @9GRYDY3 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Military spending should be decreased or at least not increased until welfare for US citizens has drastically increased.

 @9G8JFVD from California  answered…2yrs2Y

decrease we are still number one in military and will be for a long time only when they start to catch up should we increase or incase of war

 @9FXR9C5 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Make it more efficient. There are crazy inefficiencies in military procurement and operations. that many "benefit" from so have no incentive to fix. Maintin strong defense, with less spending, by cutting the fat/pork.

 @9FTYKPC from California  answered…2yrs2Y

decrease, by bringing American troops abroad back home thereby reducing military spending on foreign occupation and intervention

 @9FP52GF from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Maintain the current amount of spending but fund more education based programs, colleges, high schools, loans, etc.

 @9FJ6F65 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F7KHZM from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease dramatically. Military spending does not benefit the people in any way, and the immense amount of money wasted there is enough to end poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness in the country, WHILE STILL maintaining the world's largest military.

 @9DFRWJN from California  answered…2yrs2Y

The West should be assertive but only to ensure a rules based system with integrated security frameworks for protection and economic cooperation in a global system, the military’s should not be used aggressively to provoke undermining that system. Diplomacy and leverage should be used for treaties, economic agreements, etc.

 @9DCC4HN from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither. Only increased if affordable to do after caring for all citizen needs first. We already have a strong enough military.

 @9DBPH4S from California  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe the military should withdraw from military bases around the pacific, Europe, the Middle East, etc. leaving America to return to its form of isolation before the 2nd world war.

 @9D84JFGLibertarian from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase wages but don’t invest so much of our tax paying dollars on weaponry experiments and experimental projects. Some areas need to be decreased.

 @9D79LY7Libertarian from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease a little, and spread that money into paying off our debt/putting in to the people

 @9D5SP7N from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D47P38 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Regardless, more of the budget should be focused on soldier’s salaries and technology developments.

increase military spending for vulnerable territories; not too much military for an already secured land

 @96DN8CX from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95THX3N from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95T8S2C from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I think they should invest more money into nasa but also keep the military stable

 @95T2P5LDemocrat from California  answered…3yrs3Y

It's... probably fine the way it is? I don't really see a reason that they should or shouldn't lower/increase spending on the military.

 @95RWSG7 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95R9RDM from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Do not increase budget but audit spending to ensure efficiency and cut out overpaid gov contractors

 @95DMMS4 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't necessarily think it should be increased, but it should certainly never be decreased.

 @959JRF4 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I think they should keep it how it is as we already have the largest military

 @9584JNKIndependent from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I just don’t want my money going to stupid purchases from the military. The other day I saw a funny video of a solider with 2 M249’s in each hand and he was just shooting for fun. I was like so is this where our tax money is going too.

 @943LPPG from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Slowly Decrease from current level but always spend more than any other nation per capita by 50%

 @CCPVSMingEmpire from California  answered…3yrs3Y

To increase to the maximum, all atomic bombs must be fired on the communists at once

 @93RFYKS from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Keep it the same but focus on making the military more efficient. We need to maintain our readiness but need to be less involved in other countries problems.

 @93JDNXZ from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Balance. Currently, I feel, there is no balance. We have only people who want more power and land for themselves.

 @9384G7PWrite-In from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase when there is a national threat that directly affects the citizens of all US territories

 @8ZLGL82 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZD8WZ2 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZD2HMD from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase, but make sure that fundings for other needs are not reduced drastically.

 @8Z8SMF4 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YXKFWT from California  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should decrease the military’s budget and find a good balance between the military and the people.

 @8YWDTNYIndependence from California  answered…4yrs4Y

In these times of unrest, we need to focus on ourselves and our own borders. We as a nation are falling apart and are ripe for the picking.

 @8YR9QFG from California  answered…4yrs4Y

redefine the budget soit goes towards research and weapons also increase pay for all service members also keep the budget from further increasing by like 10 billion

 @8YMDW4YRepublican from California  answered…4yrs4Y

It should stay the same amount but redistributed so certain percentage of it is spent on certain things

 @8Y7F48L from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8XS4PR2 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Neither, The average citizen doesn’t know the current threats until informed of such which isn’t classified. The budget is where it is at hopefully for a good reason.

 @8X7FB3WAmerican from California  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that the funding we have for the military spending is fine already and we shouldn't increase it but at the same time I wouldn't want it to be increase because we need money for other things

 @8WYMF4FPeace and Freedom from California  answered…4yrs4Y

i think it should be increased for serious situations and decreased on things not needed

 @8WYDY84Republican from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W5Z9K8Peace and Freedom from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W2CP3WLibertarian from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VPSB7RPeace and Freedom from California  answered…4yrs4Y

The military should be more considerate with their spending and stop wasting a large portion of their budget.

 @8VM7YY3 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

They should spend accordingly, based on the relation of wars and such versus when we are not having wars and such.

 @8VDWSJ2 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

at this current day and age there is a big arms race, so we need a large military bill, however i would like to see the amount decreased when the threat of national security lowered.

 @8V3CKWG from California  answered…4yrs4Y

It helps us maintain as a top power but we should decrease it to a degree to fund a better education system

 @8TYW4PK from California  answered…4yrs4Y

The way our country is attacked has changed. We should spend less on violent defences and more on protecting our computer networks and infrastructure.
