Should the government increase or decrease military spending?

The government should reduce it but not by much, we are where we are because of our military power. However, there are other programs that need more funding and therefore funds taken from military spending should be redirected towards said programs.

Neither, I’m okay with the spending but I think the money can be spent more effectively and we allow companies to price gouge

The government should take into consideration that some of the people in the military are getting less than the minimum wage for where they are located.

Decrease, even just 10% decrease can benefit minority communities or better fund college students and employment pay rates.

We should only increase spending if it means that our service members receive better living conditions and increased salaries first.

The money should be better spent to reduce waste. The quantity is not the issue, the reallocation and poor financial management is.

i would say not decrease but not spending the tax money on dum things and acually use it on military equipent that is usefull and helps them or citizens.

Decrease the amount of spending on the military and redirect the excess money to social programs that benefit the most people.

Decrease, AND have an official PUBLIC audit investigation conducted on EXACTLY where and how that budget is being spent, because we are somehow both in MASSIVE debt, but still somehow have the funds to wage unnecessary wars and fund genocides in other countries. (Also, more often than not they treat our Vets very poorly and refuse to help them after being discharged, anyway.)

Increase but use the increase to help w physical and mental healthcare, homelessness, addiction, and programs to help ease back into nonmilitary life, and education. This should be for all active, inactive current military, dischared and retired military, veterans, and their families.

Decrease, if spending is towards something is unecessary do not get it and instead use it for educations

Ensure government contracts are highly reviewed to ensure spending is in line with what the product/service should actually cost. End the granting of contracts where the government is severely overcharged.

Military spending should be accounted for at least. Where's all the money? We do need a strong military so we can protect our nation and not everyone else's countries. Only spend when needed. It's a complex issue.

We can probably tighten the budget but other budgets need to be shrunk far before we address military spending.

i believe it could be split and can. be used for other things, that said some funding goes towards military family members so it can be controversial

Make it more efficient. There are crazy inefficiencies in military procurement and operations. that many "benefit" from so have no incentive to fix. Maintin strong defense, with less spending, by cutting the fat/pork.

Decrease dramatically. Military spending does not benefit the people in any way, and the immense amount of money wasted there is enough to end poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness in the country, WHILE STILL maintaining the world's largest military.

Redirect military spending inward.

The West should be assertive but only to ensure a rules based system with integrated security frameworks for protection and economic cooperation in a global system, the military’s should not be used aggressively to provoke undermining that system. Diplomacy and leverage should be used for treaties, economic agreements, etc.

Decrease plus democratize the military

Neither. Only increased if affordable to do after caring for all citizen needs first. We already have a strong enough military.

I believe the military should withdraw from military bases around the pacific, Europe, the Middle East, etc. leaving America to return to its form of isolation before the 2nd world war.

Increase wages but don’t invest so much of our tax paying dollars on weaponry experiments and experimental projects. Some areas need to be decreased.

I just don’t want my money going to stupid purchases from the military. The other day I saw a funny video of a solider with 2 M249’s in each hand and he was just shooting for fun. I was like so is this where our tax money is going too.

Keep it the same but focus on making the military more efficient. We need to maintain our readiness but need to be less involved in other countries problems.

Balance. Currently, I feel, there is no balance. We have only people who want more power and land for themselves.

Return to a flat % with mandatory service requirements. . Abololish volunteer military and go like Israel where all have a vested part
