If the government would get a handle on waste and fraud on military contracts we could more efficiently fund the military.

 @9ZRYJFZ from Minnesota  answered…10mos10MO

The government should invest in the future to strengthen the military and eliminate wasteful spending.

 @9Y6FSFM from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

I don't mind a strong military. But I don't like being a police force. I don't mind adding other nations, but we carry the brunt of the cost.

 @9XNS62T from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

If we'd keep our money for the US instead of giving it other countries this wouldn't even be a question

 @9XH2T2ZWomen’s Equality from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

I honestly don't think I wanna answer this question because it just doesn't effect nor concern me that much. It probably is important, but I just don't think it is in my range of...I don't even know.

 @9XG5P6YDemocrat  from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease to Israel, increase to Ukraine, decrease aid to India and other countries that support Russia.

 @9X8DJZD from Minnesota  answered…11mos11MO

Depends - if we are supporting allies or we are at war - then yes to increase it to ensure survival. What we really need though is BETTER spending not MORE spending.

 @9VNG6NZ from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

I mean that’s a lot of money just for the military, I feel like some of it could be used more towards schools or roads, something else.

 @9VLZNTH from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

Decrease, because civilians are the the ones who are paying for taxes so they can afford the spending.

 @9VJSBY7 from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

Need to improve the accountability for responsible spending and reducing waste, excess, and over paying first.

 @9VJRDKD from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

Military funding should be evaluated on based on the geopolitical and security threats of the nation. The government should also do a better job of using military funds efficiently.

 @9VF3JL2Republican from Minnesota  answered…12mos12MO

Cut corruption and excessive spending in procurement, then see how far the budget makes it and decide how to adjust it accordingly.

 @9TQFFG9 from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

I think a probe should be done from a not connected 3rd party to see all the current spending and depending on that, the decision should be made. America needs to be the strongest country and our military cam be the weakest link if not funded properly.

 @9SPGX3CRepublican from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

For our own military we spend enough maybe to much on the military but we should not help with for foreign military as much

 @9RYTSSW from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease but do so by reducing number of troops in Foreign countries and stopping the overpaid military contracts with Ratheon and others.

 @9RN8CT9 from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, they need to reallocate the funds to the cyber security and making sure the funds are going where they’re supposed to.

 @9NNJG6K from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

The government should maintain the same level of military spending, but implement zero based budgeting to eliminate redundancy and waste, making the military a much more efficient spender.

 @9MN4K6T from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Yes they should because they go out in this world and risk their life to make sure that we are safe and they only get paid a small amount. THEY DESERVE MORE. my best friend is in the navy and he risks his life everyday to keep his country safe for a small amount.

 @9MGVKKW from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease and wisely put more money toward universal healthcare, free college, and other critical issues in the US.

 @9MFM53K from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

They should decrease spending unless China starts spending significantly more on the military, then it should stay the same or maybe increase a tiny bit.

 @9MFM3PF from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

i think that maybe were spending too much money on the millitary, but it is important to have a strong one in case of attack, so i dont really know.

 @9LL652J from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

I feel that the government should stop funding other countries wars and use that money for our own government.

 @9KS54Q7 from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel like they should limit the amount that they are spending, if they need to increase, then they should have moral responsibility to still keep the military funds the same.

 @9KM3PMJ from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Maintain, but reform the acquisitions and spending system to stop giving massive sums to contractors and instead improve the military

 @9KKYRMS from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

The current level of spending should be accurately audited to ensure funds are not being used towards obsolete methods of warfare, etc, and then be reallocated accordingly.

 @9KK7W2K from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

The world is obviously preparing for WW3 so it's hard to argue against having a powerful military but 3x the rest of the worlds defense spending is a lot

 @9HTWRKY from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Decreasing military spending, so that this country can recover from the debt amounted from putting soldiers in foreign countries only to come back as "honorary" "war hero's".

 @9GYLVJR from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease funding for foreign wars and governments committing human rights violations, increase for those in desperate need (ex. Pandemic, genocide)

 @9GFL26S from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Reallocate current spending to protect our own borders and stop spending on never ending foreign wars

 @9G58TP2 from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on the geopolitical situation and what we see as threats to our way of life. We need to be prepared to defend ourselves but the military industrial complex has gotten out of hand.

 @9G3ZCVSDemocrat  from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

I think if we are coming towards war then we should have a high spending but if not just make it good enough to consistently grow at a decent rate.

 @9FP6739 from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DFTG4JPatriot from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Reign in government corruption, audit the defense spending process thoroughly, and determine the actual cost of the parts of defense spending of value. Then see about increasing or decreasing.

 @9D8BP5HDemocrat from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8YPR53M from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

military spending should depend on what it takes to keep our country safe and be fiscally responsible

 @8HFJPTB from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Return the troops home, stop fighting wars in other people's back yards, and this will fix itself.

 @96Z4XVB from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Budgets should be more strictly controlled and not be a "spend it or lose it" mentality allowing for deeper investment in efficiencies and reducing waste.

 @96DBZGN from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase The pay for military and their living, but decrease the funds for fight wars outside our country.

 @96BCM7R from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95SW4WP from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95FB8DL from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

I think there should be a vote on what we do and don’t spend our money on

 @94RCQMK from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

It should only spend what is necessary to maintain a somewhat sufficiently strong military.

 @9484LLC from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

I am satisfied with where we currently are; however, the military need extensive auditing and controls on spending. They need to fix what they have and provide a reason on why things aren’t operating or why commands aren’t efficient.

 @93SLQXX from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Maintain spending and make cuts for useless departments that bleed money.

 @93PLMB2 from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

It’s far more import that the money be spent more wisely. Currently too much waste. Let’s first eliminate waste then we can figure out how much money they actually need

 @93MTQTB from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93BXZMDIndependence from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

The Government spends way too much of the tax payer's money on pointless military conquest ,war and world policing, so absolutely decrease

 @92XRH6M from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Reduce foreign intervention and bring our troops home. Train them excessively well at home…but no more peacekeeping missions without congressional approval/vote

 @92TJM7B from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

It should only be increased if their are big problems going on around the world involving the United States.

 @92N77PXIndependent from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Spending limit caps need to be made and more of it current spending towards mental health and the VA

 @92GPYGRProgressive from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @923L488 from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that we should privately lower our military spending, so that other countries do not know the value of which are spending into defense.

 @922XW52 from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase but also make it mandatory for all to do 3 years of service before your eligible to apply for college, and while there must learn a trade of some kind, so there’s paid for higher Ed for the left through mandatory military service. Also while there zero access to social media, to regain social sanity.

 @8ZDN3LN from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Z7SS5R from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Drastically decreases spending on private military contractors, and increase spending on our actual military

 @8YR79CX from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Y56FMS from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease, and close all forward deployed bases and reduce troop precense throughout the world

 @8XQ9F5R from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should decrease military spending and stop worrying about wars. Wars cause chaos and hunger, govern. should care more about their citizens.

 @8WVX7Z9 from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should only spend what it needs to on the Military. No war = less spending, war = more spending

 @8WNZGFP from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WMTXDP from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Think that the military should be provided whatever they need to ensure the countries safety.

 @8WF777S from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W5PY6VWomen’s Equality from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease but not to much because they are still very important, though I do think we spend a bit much on it.

 @8TV9C95 from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase as long as they don’t take the money from Social Security disability and Medicare.

 @8TRPTQVDemocrat from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase only if there is an urgent pressing matter at hand or if National intelligence can predict the need to, but no spending just because.

 @8TQ272M from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

I'm in favor of keeping a strong military. But there is thousands of planes that have never took off that the military just mothballs. So my stance is trimmed the fat quit wasting our money and keep a strong military while we save money

 @8TJ86RL from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease when not actively fighting a war and eliminate black budgets and deep cover programs that aim to radicalize people.

 @8T8VKQVAmerican Solidarity from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Keep funding the same, but put it all into navy and air force. No standing army.

 @8SQHDKY from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S7XTFS from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RV7D9R from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RSSKVX from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

Regardless, we should consider how necessary each of the military's functions are

 @8RHBJ5T from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Depends on the situation, if we are going into war, increase it, if nothing is happening, decrease it

 @8R993QP from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8R5T6KN from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8R2YKNF from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8R2TDWSIndependent from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Keep enough money to make sure we have a strong defense and offense but use the surplus on other social/economical and environmental issues

 @8Q55JQ4 from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Preform a complete audit of military spending, and base the decision to increase or decrease spending on the efficiency of current spending rates, including support programs for military members and veterans

 @8Q4Z699 from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Audit and proper financing in place, too much wasteful spending. Neither increase or decrease.

 @8PZD6PG from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, but the deficit should be drastically reduced before it is increased.

 @8PQ6W6M from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

depends what is under 'military' spending and what its going for. if just for weapons, decrease.

 @8P867G8Republican from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8P2X4QW from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

I think they should raise the money for the military but not by too much that the USA doesn’t have much money left.

 @8NSZTL3 from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease by around 30% and reallocate funding toward other issues like healthcare and education
