An audit should be completed and then each program should be evaluated to determine its necessity. This should reduce spending while keeping protection at its ultimate.

 @B5MHPTT from Illinois  answered…4mos4MO

lets use that military money on improving our own countries quality of life and safety. We have our own crime our own drug and terrorism. work on that first then we can spend whatever to go fight for other people

 @B4SFSK4 from Illinois  answered…5mos5MO

I feel like it should be decreased only by a certain amount not by a lot because it's still needed for foreign affairs.

 @B4RBC6C from Illinois  answered…5mos5MO

I don't think that nay government should spend millions on on the military, there should be no wars in my opinion and instead leaders of countries should talk agreements instead of taking things by force.

 @9Y5CC8R from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

Slightly decrease and also decrease other meaningless spending. Maintain good relations with NATO and arms training with partners.

 @9W6VDTYRepublican from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but the money must be tracked and spending needs held accountable. If it is not spent responsibly then take the money back.

 @9TTFQJF from Illinois  answered…12mos12MO

The bigger issue is what to spend on. The war in Ukraine is really changing how warfare is conducted.

 @9SS73DN from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

The amount of spending is related to current conflicts we are involved in or planning to be involved with

 @9SLM5QW from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, maintain the current level of spending until an audit of the Department of Defence is completed.

 @9RFX246Republican from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Our military should have proper equipment and a livable wage. Careful money management should be all that is necessary.

 @9QT8L9X from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Increase it to where the money is truly benefiting OUR military branches. Better Qualities of life, better training, better food, better pay, better tools to complete all jobs across the branches.

 @9KPZJHXLibertarian from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Only increase is there needs to be . Like let’s say there is a Ward breaking out or something happens where the military equipment is damaged or it’s run out then spend more funding but if nothing bad is happening to the point where we need more our military equipment then just keep the funding as it is

 @9GTM7C3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, but not radically. We just need to stop getting involved in other country's business. Focus on protecting ourselves.

 @9DSMMV3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

We should prioritize spending on public services (e.g. education, healthcare, infrastructure) before increasing military spending. If those services are of good quality, we can then consider increasing military spending.

 @9DLK9DV from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BMLVL4 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, I believe there are other things to spend on rather then on the military.

 @95TWTCX from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Spending should be tied with risk, need, some sort of plan not just an arbitrary spending number

 @94QK7XZ from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94QB5RH from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

I think it depends on what the country is going therew like right know there are tentions around the world so yes

 @94KX93M from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Have the availability to add or reduce funding based off whats necessary to protect us from terrorist attacks and invasion.

 @94FHJY7 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should spend less on equipment for active military and more on supporting veterans

 @93YSZ99 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, but with the increase in spending only going to take care of veterans after they return home.

 @93MLMWQ from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92VB8WH from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

not spend too much. not increase and not necessarily decrease but not billions on top of billions on top of hundreds of millions if that makes sense.

 @92QYHJK from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but it needs to be monitored for price gouging by defense contractors

 @927VLDF from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YVXSTK from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YFBBQY from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

I would say we should decrease by a little only because we have enough already why do we need more . If there is another war it would be nuclear or digital which one could end the world and there would be no point. The other is something we can do by shift some spending to more technology base military. But move some of that money to help support people that need it.

 @8XBXSK3 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

If it helps keep citizens safe then keep it where it's at but a lil lower. If it dose not help the the citizens then lower it as much as they can i order to maintain order.

 @8WSXH82 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WR7GCZ from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Find a way to maintain the strength of the military while simultaneously reducing costs

 @8W7M8YM from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

i think the U.S spends way too much money on the military and thats the reason so many other people are suffering financially

 @8VDPR9H from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Neither, but they should find other ways and make sure they spend the money wisely. Should prioritize needs.

 @8V33B2T from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

We should be prepared for anything to protect our people without militarizing the U.S.

 @8SKJS4P from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S6SCW4 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

I want the amount of spending to go towards what the military veterans need and get a higher pay. They risk their own mental health and their lives for this country. They deserve the higher pay for them and their families.

 @8RVHZPF from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

military spending should be managed on an "as needed" basis. first, take care of the troops and their families during service and after. ie.. daycare for children for active and extended health care for vets. we should not expect to take care of other countries when we do have our own that are suffering. military spending should not just be on the defense of the country, but to prevent and keep peace with others.

 @8RVH38R from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RFQ6B9Reform from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I don’t think that it should be increased or decreased when needed but there should be transparency to anything government funded. Many companies overcharge under government contracts for supplies.

 @8R2PQYK from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Keep it the same but stop trying to be the big brother to the rest of the world

 @8QWB8TT from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8QS5G9Z from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

This is a tricky one. Our great military needs more funding to bring it back to the glory it once was. Defunding is a different disaster. The extra expense due to special accommodations for transgender and LGBTQ.

I'm open to either increasing or decreasing spending in proportion to what our needs are, and how the funds which have already been given have historically been used.

 @8PXB5BJ from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8PVY4ML from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

decrease, but still pay close attention to the upgrading of military equipment

 @8PGFQS9 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

decrease but only if spending is then used on national infrastructure or towards social saftey net programs

 @8P4X325 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NZQQWK from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NYJGLP from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NX7S8Z from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Military spending should be put to better use than what it is and it probably wouldn’t cost as much

 @8NVV4TZ from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NTSNRK from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NQ6Z8NIndependent from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Should only increase when it is needed meaning we are in danger of going into war with other countries.

 @8NCKPSQ from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, I am satisfied with the current amount of spending and feel police departments should receive funding from this budget as well

 @8NC3LGS from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I think we need military but contacts to public where over priced and corporate take advantage needs to be monitered

 @8MVZTC6Libertarian from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I believe that they should use the expenses on the correct items and non non sense items

 @8MR5LQ5American from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MPW87M from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

It always follow on what and how , but if all in vote that if it is needed in the support of our troops then increase the amount. But there is always fundings in the us for donations to help with our troops then just understand on the help is and will always be given to our troops.

 @8M6Y5NY from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, but we should regulate what the budget is being spent on better.

 @8M6KHX4 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease but dont downsize the force sto pool paying outrageous prices for useless weapons that only sit in a hanger and never get used.

 @8M54N6M from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LT8J43 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Invest into foreign relationships and fair commerce instead of weaponry

 @8LNNVQH from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I think we should decrease it but move that money because more people die from illness Then wars.

 @8L9WR6S from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KL4DXF from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither but the cost of government contracts is ridiculous. The material costs are exorbitant

 @8KKY94P from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease by abolishing the military beyond a coast guard and small national defense force

 @8KH8JC8Women’s Equality from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I want it to be distributed more to those in the military in lower ranks and less on the process of war and unnecessary machinery

 @8KGNGHW from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JZJ7LCIndependent from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JPSGGP from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Raise taxes on rich and other companies and use those funds for government spending

 @8JB3NQX from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease somewhat, use that money to pay off national debt and/or fund NASA

 @8J7NLP3American from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Keep it funded. Without trying to convince Americans that everyone is a threat outside the U.S.
