Should the government increase or decrease military spending?

Military spending is only so high due to the way we make purchases. Change how military purchasing works and we can lower costs and get the same equipment and training.

The government should increase military spending only during times of war or when there is a threat to the country.

I feel like there should be a steady spending for the military. It should only increase in a time of war.

I think we should be able to fund our military for health and needs but we dont need the extra money rasing up our taxes to fund the stuff we dont need much money on but our money is losing value so i think we should try to start adding the value back on.

Increase, but only because they should focus more on defending America than they should on trying to solve every other country's problems. If the money is only spent on other countries, then it should be decreased.

Increase military spending and decrease all areas of spending to other countries that are not currently or have ever been our allies or if they are not currently a NATO member

We should charge all the countries of NATO that are not meeting there required contributions to defense.

Increase, with all of the wars happening currently, we are going to need it, especially with nuclear defense.

Decrease and shift spending to domestic issues, or to helping create peace in global crises such as genocide.

I would say if they need the help and support to help them fight then I would say yes, but if it’s just to get better and cooler equipment then I’ll say no.

Decrease but keep it high enough to not promote an oppotunity for an attack but just enough to save our spending and fix the debt issues

I think 🤔 that our elected officials should stop selling our military and other classified secrets for campaign contributions and other bribes.
And we spend more on our armed forces then the next how many nations combined?
What would be the cost difference between this and universal basic income for our population?
Seriously let's top socialism here and determine what has and has not be compromised and how can we maintain what we already have until we pay off our debts?

Neither, I would like to keep the USA neutral. Only increasing or decreasing to match other country's capabilities.

Increased, because it is for the protection of the U.S. With the growing danger of the increase of power in other nations, it is beneficial to have a strong protection system.

we need to work on a way to lower our deficit, but we should still strive to remain on top of the worlds power and by a wide margin at that.

We need to maintain an arsenal equal or better to other nations. We have sufficient funding for our military, but it is organized poorly for this purpose. No increasing or decreasing should occur until it is reorganized.

Keep a healthy military without excessive spending

When Trump was in office, the amount of spenidng in on the military was the best its been. The US military was once more the most strong and powerful force in the world, having a larger army than Russia and China. But with the new administration, the US military has once more been disgraced, and China now has a bigger navy than the US and is fastly becoming more of a threat. So I think we need to increase spendin, and put it back at the rate it was when Trump was in office.

The people who fund the military should only give money to them if they need it for important things.

No, and and regulate the contracts with the government to prevent outrageous spending on overpriced items.

I would say increase very slightly. We need military weapons and soldiers to be paid more. However, we still need the money ourself.

It depends on what the purchases are on. If they are spending $35 on a foam coffee cup compared to weapons to defend our country there is a very big difference.
