Maintain a certain amount of military force capability, with the option of increasing when needs arise (i.e ISIS).

 @B6KHRGR from North Dakota  answered…1mo1MO

Military spending is only so high due to the way we make purchases. Change how military purchasing works and we can lower costs and get the same equipment and training.

 @B4HMRBX from North Dakota  answered…5mos5MO

The government should increase military spending only during times of war or when there is a threat to the country.

 @B4F6QLX from North Dakota  answered…6mos6MO

I feel like there should be a steady spending for the military. It should only increase in a time of war.

 @B48NXFT from North Dakota  answered…6mos6MO

I think we should be able to fund our military for health and needs but we dont need the extra money rasing up our taxes to fund the stuff we dont need much money on but our money is losing value so i think we should try to start adding the value back on.

 @B2FMJ76 from North Dakota  answered…8mos8MO

Increase, but only because they should focus more on defending America than they should on trying to solve every other country's problems. If the money is only spent on other countries, then it should be decreased.

 @9YHC2RV from North Dakota  answered…10mos10MO

Increase military spending and decrease all areas of spending to other countries that are not currently or have ever been our allies or if they are not currently a NATO member

 @9Y7YLY3 from North Dakota  answered…10mos10MO

We should charge all the countries of NATO that are not meeting there required contributions to defense.

 @9WFLYQ8 from North Dakota  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, with all of the wars happening currently, we are going to need it, especially with nuclear defense.

 @9VVCH64 from North Dakota  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease and shift spending to domestic issues, or to helping create peace in global crises such as genocide.

 @9VTNVNYPeace and Freedom from North Dakota  answered…11mos11MO

I would say if they need the help and support to help them fight then I would say yes, but if it’s just to get better and cooler equipment then I’ll say no.

 @9P6TNVG from North Dakota  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease but keep it high enough to not promote an oppotunity for an attack but just enough to save our spending and fix the debt issues

 @9M7X92J from North Dakota  answered…1yr1Y

I think 🤔 that our elected officials should stop selling our military and other classified secrets for campaign contributions and other bribes.
And we spend more on our armed forces then the next how many nations combined?
What would be the cost difference between this and universal basic income for our population?
Seriously let's top socialism here and determine what has and has not be compromised and how can we maintain what we already have until we pay off our debts?
In plain English no new spending!

 @9LH75FG from North Dakota  answered…1yr1Y

I believe that we are spending enough on our own military but i believe we should stop spending so much on other countries

 @9JWGFSNDemocrat from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, I would like to keep the USA neutral. Only increasing or decreasing to match other country's capabilities.

 @9HTW75B from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease unless it’s for the cause of our own country. (Ex. Not wasting billions of dollars for another country (Ukraine).)

 @9HJRM8K from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

Increased, because it is for the protection of the U.S. With the growing danger of the increase of power in other nations, it is beneficial to have a strong protection system.

 @9H28SZH from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

we need to work on a way to lower our deficit, but we should still strive to remain on top of the worlds power and by a wide margin at that.

 @9FRVB2K from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

The spending is already quite high, so just maintaining it and maybe lowering it if possible could be beneficial.

 @9FDLXFY from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DQV7VSRepublican from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DL5RKY from North Dakota  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to maintain an arsenal equal or better to other nations. We have sufficient funding for our military, but it is organized poorly for this purpose. No increasing or decreasing should occur until it is reorganized.

 @95GQZ5H from North Dakota  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease but do t put it into any one thing but as a reserve fund to be allocated as needed

 @92PV9MK from North Dakota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9222JQ7 from North Dakota  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that we need to spend more because they do a lot more for this country. The United States Military is strong but we could always be stronger.

 @8ZF4668 from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZC2FRM from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase, only after making sure companies are efficiently using the funds.

 @8XR3CM5 from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

Military spending budget should be managed better and then adjusted accordingly

 @8WYCYWFRepublican from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

Should be the sun worth their work(they are always needed but to the fact of paying other workers and raising pay)

 @8WDQYHQ from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

should increase amount spent when the dumb *** we call our president resides into the nursing home.

 @8W7XKB7 from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W7WJMG from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W627ZG from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

They should increase it and when they have gotten there things needed for potential danger, decreasing it back to normal

 @8STQVQ2 from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

When Trump was in office, the amount of spenidng in on the military was the best its been. The US military was once more the most strong and powerful force in the world, having a larger army than Russia and China. But with the new administration, the US military has once more been disgraced, and China now has a bigger navy than the US and is fastly becoming more of a threat. So I think we need to increase spendin, and put it back at the rate it was when Trump was in office.

 @8SJ5W7Q from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

The people who fund the military should only give money to them if they need it for important things.

 @8S9S49P from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

Dependent on overall purpose, meddling attacks vs. overwhelming deterrents.

 @8RY22QD from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

I think we should lower spending on out of country military personnel (get soldiers home) spending, but I’m not entirely sure if we should lower spending on the military as a whole

 @8RTC76WIndependent from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and and regulate the contracts with the government to prevent outrageous spending on overpriced items.

 @8RQ5CJM from North Dakota  answered…4yrs4Y

I would say increase very slightly. We need military weapons and soldiers to be paid more. However, we still need the money ourself.

 @8QJQ8JMLibertarian from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

keep it as it is right now unless it's in time of war then we should increase it by a lot.

 @8QHYYB9Republican from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8QH6VVF from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

They should only increase it if we go to war or something because what are they doing with the money?

 @8Q4SNG6 from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease, close all military bases overseas and bring our troops home..we are not the world's police...

 @8PT7TW3 from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease, and that money should be used to fund a Universal Income for all U.S. citizens

 @8PCRTYTDemocrat from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NXPNGL from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8ND5WXJ from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

It depends on what the purchases are on. If they are spending $35 on a foam coffee cup compared to weapons to defend our country there is a very big difference.

 @8MXVC74 from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MV7HJL from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

Spend the amount needed but also make sure we give money to all services and not just on military.

I honestly don't understand this, but if it means giving the military more money, then Yes, because if they are risking their lives for us, giving the military will allow the engineers to make more armor for the army, more aircraft for the air force, and more ships for the navy.

 @8L763HS from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8L3Q6LNDemocrat from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

I think that over time they should decrease the spending as long as were still able to be a powerful military and use the money that we took from the military and invest it into other things. But we should increase it if we are in or might go into a big war.

 @8KPLBMD from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

A strong military is essential to our nation's security, but there does need to be a serious discussion about the amount of spending going on in general, and as such I question the wisdom of increasing federal spending for the military.

 @8HWC4M8Republican from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

Spend enough to keep the country secure, and still be a power, but not in excess.
