its just more tax payers dollars to building bigger weapons so I think we should just slowly increase just so they could always upgrade or improve what they already have.

 @BlissfulF0reignP0licy from New Jersey  agreed…2yrs2Y

how big should the weapons get?

do you think this is an arms race with China and Russia?

 @9F356W3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease when possible, but make the spending publically available for everyone to see what is being spent and on what.

 @9F23T88 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DHFLPS from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @B725ZGH from Texas  answered…5 days5D

More funding should go towards housing, training, and veteran programs with military spending, but honestly, the only military equipment that could use upgrades are the vehicles and air/sea crafts, our weapons are sufficient enough, that they no longer need to be upgraded for the foreseeable future

 @B5V23XWNo Labels from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

No, but drastically increase efficiency and strict regulation for fraud, waste and abuse. Transparency and accountability for failed audits.

 @B3R6CSM from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but itemize the budget as public information. Any thing that can’t be justified should be explained.

 @Wombattius_Working Family  from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Decrease, so that we can divert the funding towards other sectors, such as healthcare and education.

 @B2GS5G6No Labels from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Wrong question; it needs to be audited first to redirected all money away from money laundering foreign 'aid' packages and the intelligence agencies first before deciding whether it needs to be reduced or stayed put.

 @B2CRYDF from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

We need to find a way to continue to protect our citizens and vulnerable persons from violent and potential danger, while we drastically reduce our deficit.

 @B23DML2 from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Neither, a full audit should occur in order to determine where there is wasteful spending. Service men and women and veterans should be paid their worth; but redundant offices that only benefit the constituencies of members of congress and private contractors who do not offer any extra benefit should be excised from the budget.

 @9ZJ42V7 from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease an implement way more oversight on where money is allocated. Way to much money is wasted or "lost"

 @9Z3S968 from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

It depends on the year and the risks the country faces. I am satisfied with a robust military spending program.

 @9YFC8NHIndependent from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

I believe military spending should be at a rate where it is absolutely necessary for the well being of the nation, cut on costs anywhere possible, and used to create more jobs and opportunities.

 @9XDG3WT from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease, but not to the point where the people already involved aren’t able to take care of themselves or their families.

 @9W9K4SM from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Military spending should not necessarily decrease, but should be done with more oversight to ensure we are getting the most bang for our buck.

 @9VPQW8N from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

I think it should be decreased via less money to private contractors and more transparency where the money is actually going.

 @9VMBNGY from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, as well as increase personnel, reopen closed military bases, thereby increasing jobs and regional stability.

 @9V9HVY3Independent from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

Increase, but only for the purpose of funding military efforts to promote peace/cooperate with other countries

 @9V5NS7W from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

decrease, we don't need any more weapons but should be increased in an imment threat of war or any type of situation that could a threat to the United states

 @9TZDRD8 from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

Decrease, the government should monitor military spending closely and end large corporations' bleeding of government funds.

 @9TCH65H from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, only because there is so much waste. Make the contractors earn their contracts and compete to keep them vs handing billions over and wait 10 years for subpar results.

 @9STJ7Q4 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

We need to stop being involved in the wars of others. We should protect ourselves here and focus on funding the issues we have in our own country. People need to stop killing each other.

 @9SRSJRW from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, but it should not come at the expense of veterans, etc. It should come at the expense of the asinine spending in places that we have no business being.

 @9SKWH5L from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The government should stop overpaying for military contracts, then decide if the budget is sufficient.

 @9S9L6R6 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

we should spend only what we must to maintain a superior military footing in relation to other sovereign powers whose interests would be better served by a less powerful and militarily vulnerable America.

 @9RRL7G4  from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The military needs to pass an audit of its budget to identify and eliminate wastful spending before an increase.

 @9QVGBMZ from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

We should audit current spending to make it more efficient. I'm all for having a strong military but govt is known to waste money, just ask the pentagon.

 @9NYMHL9Republican from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

yes. absolutely protect US property. but not upper echelon salaries. yes to weapons, intelligence, training

 @9LM95NL from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Should be better checks in place to justify the cost of the money we’re spending through the military.

 @9LKBLLF from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The government should first reduce the military's involvement in foreign affairs, and then offer the military the amount necessary to complete its reduced mission. The budget should be based on proven need, not increased or decreased arbitrarily.

 @9K6G5QF  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease by optimization. There is a huge amount of waste, with no accountability. I’m all for a strong defense, but only with fiscally responsible management.

 @9J8VG9R from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, as long as the difference is used for education, more social healthcare programs, or better transportation infrastructure

 @9J8NXHH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends. The military budget is bloated and could probably stand to be cut slightly instead of steadily increasing on a regular basis. Perhaps a reallocation of fund from one section of the military to another could be a potential solution.

 @9J6BKW5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Audit current spending with transparency, if the audit is clear spending may increase to reasonable values.

 @9HM3G56Populist from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Pay soldiers a higher wage. Give more compensation once they have completed 4 years of service. Spend less money on experience and unused machinery and technology.

 @9H64GDL from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, but keep it at at least $600 billion dollars and/or keep in par with foreign adversaries amount

 @9GQ9T92Peace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

military spending should only be increased when needed, not when there are soldiers just waitng for something to happen, and are not actually doing anything.

 @9GNXN5HDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Strategic areas of operations and bases should be fully funded. Specifically in Asia, Europe, & Israel.

 @9GN3LJC from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease the spending on arms and recruiting, increase the funding on healthcare and housing for veterans.

 @9GJSPV7Republican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends. I think the government falsely moves money to their benefit but "use it for military spending". SO, yes and no dependant on how it is actually used.

 @9FV7NF3Republican  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The increase should only come from the ability to increase, stating being able to move necessary funds from unnecessary spending.

 @9FSS84Y from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Transfer funds to pay of country debt and fund more important national necessities like healthcare, education, and people who need extra funds.

 @9FP4T83Republican  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The answer is not as simple as yes or no. The first step is to review and revise our current military spending strategy. Much of the spending waste comes from the use it or lose it budget policies. The budget should be need based.

 @9FHL49BRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FHDLHH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe the government should decrease the amount of spending on military because if they did it would help go to more important things such as education.

 @9FFGM4D from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The spending should only increase in times of need or to keep our military a powerhouse while not increasing taxes.

 @9FC3N23American Solidarity from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease when necessary to pay for an expansion of social services. Increase when a global conflict is imminent.

 @9F93WQH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

If they do they should spend it on helping their injured and homeless veterans

 @9F9385M from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F7G744 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

if it neccessary fore the more spending, then im for it. if they feel as if it will protect us more then do it

 @9DTTSZM from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They must use it better and to the benefit of them. Perhaps increased in times of war and decreased in times of peace?

 @9DTM62T from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, but I want a specific balance sheet of all the expenses thoroughly explained.

 @9DPLDPWPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DG8GJJDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease in not useful projects and streamlining, but increase in protecting the people who fought for our country.

 @9DFKX5D from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, but it would be more profitable in the long run to decrease it. Then, on the other hand, we need a lot of money in the military in order to advance our technology.

 @9DCVT5BIndependent from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that it should be decreased to a more sustainable budget and reallocating our foreign military endeavors to a more national defense strategie

 @9D9R56G from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Conduct a thorough audit of military spending and cut what is not currently aiding our defense

 @9D8VC92 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I am in favor of smart spending. Cutting down on unnecessary programs while keeping what is necessary and strategic and increasing funding where it is realistically necessary.

 @9D5FYDP from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

About the same buget, just spet wiser. Wasteful spending and spending on Administrative costs should be reduces giving more money to be spent on the actual training and weapons. The red tape on those weapons developement should also be reduced

 @8GTHCB2 from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease, instead of spending tons of money on the military, spend more money on the criminal justice system and the education system.

 @9JNHT3MPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I agree with the amount currently they have to spend to protect our country but I question how much goes outside of the United States.

 @9BS7GYQ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BLPYL7Republican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, but refocus spending to better living conditions and pay for service members.

 @9B2VLKP from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Whether we increase or decrease we have dug a hole by getting into conflicts and establishing defense and security for other countries so if we want to decrease funding we have to pull out of countries leaving behind a power vacuum.

 @99Z29WQIndependent from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99YCHZY from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @998NS4K from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I’m half and half on the question, they should spend the same amount every year, but when war gets closer to coming then they should raise the spending limit to make new weapons to try to one up the other side

 @96XNSK4 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96H54M7 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @96B7BBXIndependent from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

There should be greater oversite and true accountability for the spending for all government departements.

 @968Z6PR from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should investigate the military programs that are being paid for by the government and adjust spending according to what is truly necessary for our countries protection and development.

 @968VXZR from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The current amount is acceptable, however there should be more transparency into how funds are being allocated.

 @95WJF53 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

A full audit must be completed before any rational decision can be made.

 @95QZC7Y from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95HGMSV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9488MY7 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @946PMJC from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

lot of people in the force abuse power given to them and i saw this yesterday so i dont think we should increase funding without proper people in the force

 @93ZNBZK from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should only increase the military spending to benefit its soldiers.

 @93Q6DVW from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Can only be determined when a full account of the previous funds is accounted for, until then no new funds of any kind should be given

 @93PHCYB from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase pay for service members, but otherwise reduce over all spending.

 @93P4BSB from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93NDFFS from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Spend more efficiently, to reduce the need for such a large budget. Eliminate pork barrel spending and kickbacks from DoD contracts.
